Netroots Nation Blogging

Greetings from Austin.

The TPM Media crew landed mid-afternoon, and we got right to work, recording interviews that we'll be posting later tonight and tomorrow morning.

We watched the sun set over Texas Hill Country with retired Gen. Wesley Clark, in his top-floor hotel suite, and discussed Afghanistan. We met Jeff Merkley, the speaker of the Oregon House, who's giving Republican Sen. Gordon Smith a run for his money. We were blown away by Debbie Cook, the striking and irreverent lawyer, environmental activist, and mayor of Huntington Beach who is challenging Rep. Dana "Panties on the Head" Rohrabacher in the CA-46.

We're at the Convention Center now, where DNC Chairman Howard Dean is about to give the keynote address.

More soon.
