Here's some video of the inane exchange between Chris Matthews and Margaret Carlson about ol' romping Big Dog I noted below. The great thing about the video version -- something you can't tell from the transcript -- is the way Pat Buchanan is beside himself with incredulity at just how ridiculous and transparent the poll question really was.

It's almost as if Buchanan can't really believe that three adults are sitting there on national television acting like such buffoons. Check it out:

I don't read Pat Buchanan in the way you do. It seems to me that he is laughing because he thinks Bill Clinton hasn't learned anything--he is still the same person, so the question answers itself in his mind.

Of course the corollay question is: Has George Bush learned from his past mistakes?

One of the things wrong with this country is that Americans watch these crappy talk shows as tho these people know something that everyone else doesn't.

Turn off these damned shows and see how much smarter you get - and better informed too.

Buchanan is definitely incredulous the question is asked, but only because he thinks it ludicrous that Bill Clinton might have "changed his ways". You can hear him saying basically that during his laughter.

Around :40 or so he says "You've gotta be kidding me, that's a little naive, to think he's changed his ways..."

Actually I'm surprised this question 'has bill clinton changed his ways' isn't knocking the war in Iraq, the DOJ scandals, etc... off every front page in every blog.

Hope you didn't miss Tweety yesterday playing a long clip of I Love Lucy, at the end of which Ricky flips Lucy over his knee to spank her - in order to compare it to the Clintons' marriage. Andrea Mitchell just sat there stony-faced, Andrew Sullivan snickered embarrassedly, the Bloomberg woman's face was frozen in a "wtf" smile.
