John Ensign

Nevada Sen. John Ensign's affair with Cynthia Hampton, a former staffer and close family friend, was just one part of an intricate web connecting the senator and the Hamptons.

The other woman, no pictures of whom have yet emerged, was the treasurer for Ensign's re-election campaign and other political committees tied to Ensign.

Doug Hampton

The scorned husband was a longtime friend of Ensign's and a senior member of his Senate staff.

Maury Gallagher

A big contributor to Ensign, the CEO of Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air hired Doug Hampton and the Hamptons' son after the affair ended, and the Hamptons were no longer employed by Ensign.

Megyn Kelly

Just before Ensign went public with the affair, Doug Hampton penned a letter to Megyn Kelly of Fox News begging her for help exposing the story, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

For Senate/campaign staffers, the Hamptons were living quite large -- in a palatial Las Vegas home they bought for $1.23 million in 2004, before they began working for Ensign.

November Inc.

After leaving Ensign's office, Doug Hampton went to work for the political consulting firm run by two other former Ensign staffers.

Cynthia Hampton worked as the treasurer for the senator's PAC for several months in early 2008.

Darlene Ensign

The senator's wife stood by her man: "This has been difficult on both families. With the help of our family and close friends, our marriage has become stronger. I love my husband."
