I'm not sure but I'll try to find out. My mother will turn 90 this year. Today I gave her a call, during the conversation she mentioned that her land-lord had called informing her that "some sort of apartment committee" would be there to inspect her apt. She's been there 35 years. I told to her to ask if they had a warrant when they showed up. I asked her to call the land-lord for more info.  From what  he told her it became obvious to me that it was the HUD Housing Authority . I  Googled up the info she gave me and it seems it is some branch  of Section 8. There are some Section 8 tenants in the complex but she is NOT a Section 8 tenant, she is self-sufficient.
