You hear the Born-Again witness pretty much endlessly regarding the subject of forgiveness of sins. They say that after one invites Christ into one's life, all they have to do is confess their sins and they are forgiven.
That's wrong.
One has to confess their sins AND show contrition for the sins they committed. That means you have to actually be sorry for the sins you already did, and have to make real effort not to commit the same sins again.
BIG difference. Even if evangelical Christians are right on everything across the spectrum of faith about God and the after-life, there's still going to be a whole lot of evangelical Christians shocked to find out Peter is wating for them with a ticket on an escalator down. Peter will explain to these surprised people that more is required of them to obtain forgiveness than reading off laundry lists of sins regularly with no additional effort done to stop repeating the same sins over and over again.
