Stupid Questions
In the spirit that the only stupid question is the one never asked, here's another one that isn't being asked, although it should be.
Never have corporate interests received so much of what they wanted from our government. Between the Energy Bill, the Bankruptcy Bill, all the various tax breaks, loopholes, subsidies, pork out the wazoo and regulations either overturned, ignored, unenforced, or never enacted at all, you'd think there was never a better time for American business.

... because employers don't won't to give good jobs with benefits because the cost of healthcare is so high. So we get Walmart jobs, outsourcing, etc. Anything that makes the good ole boys who support George W. wealthier at the expense of everybody else.

Why do we NOT have the lowest unemployment rate in history...?
The answer is: Because the economy is good for service industry jobs only - and even some of those are outsourced overseas. The financial industry is going great (although Wall Street is only just now showing real signs of life). The wal-marts of the world are doing well. But as they do well, the better paying mom and pops are losing ground. And while all of that is going on - we have a never-ending flow of low-wage illegal labor entering the country and the constent lose of manufacturing jobs.
We live in two worlds now (in the US). The world of booming economy for the wealthy and the stagnent economy of the working people. And I am afraid, even if we had the 'lowest unemployment rate' in history - it would be because we have achieved it through even lower wage, non-living wage jobs.
Beware of the fanatics, they never see gray.
