Carville
The Clintons are insiders - of the Democratic party machine. While the Bush Republicans have had the White House for the past 7 years, the democrats nonetheless had outstanding election results in the mid-terms, many with the support and campaign assistance of Bill Clinton. That is what I think the poster who said the Clintons are insiders means. However, undeniably Obama has energized the party with newcomers, has unified a great deal of the party and, in my view, would be a stronger challenger to the near-corpse McCain. And despite Hillary's media-assisted projection of her experience, the record says no as compared to Obama's. In any case, Carville is right: Hillary needs to win Texas and Ohio. Otherwise, she is toast and while there are those who refuse to face up to this, they cannot just cast aside Obama's winning streak. Yes he has galvanized voters of all stripes, something we have not seen in a long time. How exciting and fortunate for us democrats who knew all along that Bush/Cheney would trash this country's reputation, immerse us in debt, and run us into the debacle of Iraq. I remember his slogan: "I'm a uniter, not a divider". Right!

The Clintons were never insiders. As far as the Washington insiders were concerned they were just Arkansas trailer trash. Bill Clinton never got on well with Ted Kennedy and the other "old-timers".
As to Obama unifying the party, right now it fairly looks split down the middle, with considerable acrimony and name-calling on both sides.
