Watching the debate thus far, I'm reminded of the debate episode of West Wing. Polling shows that whether the President tries to be 'just plain folks' or the smartest kid in the class, the perception will be that he's arrogant. So the decision is to be the smartest kid- if your going to be perceived that way no matter what, you may as well knock some bodies down with it. I feel like Clinton is trying really hard (and may be) the smartest kid in the class... but not by much, and she's not knocking any bodies down...
