A thought on Obama-Wright

Obama has referred to Mr. White as being like his uncle who sometimes says crazy things.

Obama cant reject Jeremiah Wright any more than Hillary can reject Bill.

Hell, she was just recently able to merely apologize for Bill's South Carloina comments.

I'm saying, its kind of hard to "reject and denounce" someone you love and respect, even if sometimes you disagree with them and want to strangle them for something they said (or did).

It's certainly a lot harder than "rejecting and denouncing" someone like Louis Farakhan with whom you have no long-term personal history.

In politics, sometimes you have to throw your friends under the bus to get ahead. It happens.

But you hardly ever see someone ambitious enough to throw their own spouse or uncle under the bus. And if you did, would you really want to vote for them?

Obama has already gone further than HRC. Obama has stated very clearly that he does not agree with some of the views expressed by Wright. Period.

HRC, after weeks of non-response, said she apologized if anyone was offended. She didn't apologize for Bill's remarks, just that she was sorry anyone might be offended by them. She didn't disown Bill's remarks. Big difference.

Huh? Last I checked Bill and Hill were a couple. Obama and Wright are...not. There's just a different dynamic there.

Different dynamic, yes. butonly in the way a husband and wife are different from an uncle and a nephew.

Obama sees him as an uncle, as part of his family. It's not that easy to reject someone you consider a part of your family no matter how strongly you may disagree with them.

Family is family. And yes, it does make it more dificult for Obama because they are not "family" in the same sense Bill and Hill are, so voters may expect a different standard.

I'm saying for Obama the man, it's not something he could do as easily as some folks think it should be if his feelings toward the man are sincere, and i have no reason to doubt they are.
