Each Day Hillary Becomes Less of a Democrat

Democratic Party position:  Stealing elections is wrong.

Clinton philosophy: Bush did it in 2000. They did it. So can

Democratic Party position: Michigan and Florida will be suspended of their delegates for moving up their primaries. Candidates are asked to remove their names from the ballots and not campaign there.

Clinton philosophy: If I win in Michigan in Florida, the rules I agreed to must not count.

Democratic Party position: States can choose for themselves how their primaries will work and if they should use a caucus system.

Clinton philosophy: Only states with caucuses that favor me are caucusing democratically. The rest are insignificant and undemocratic.

Democratic Party position: Embrace the 50-state initiative. Every vote counts. Every state counts. There are many electoral paths that mathematically can lead to a national win.

Clinton Philosophy: Only states that vote for Hillary in the primary count. Only people who vote for Hillary count. There is only one electoral path to Pennsylvania Avenue.

Democratic Party position:
Clinton and Obama campaigns must stop slinging mud at each other.

Clinton Philosophy: "Tonya Harding" and "Kitchen Sink" strategies must be used to "knee-cap" the opponent.

Democratic Party position: John McCain must not become President of the United States of America.

Clinton Philosophy: If not Hillary, only John McCain fit for office.

Democratic Party position: The nomination will be decided before the convention.

Clinton Philosophy:  We must wage this war for 100 years, 1000 years, whatever it takes.

Holy God, the Republicans were right. The Clintons are evil!

Maybe if we're lucky Clinton will self-destruct the way she hopes Obama will.

"Maybe"? I thought we were already seeing the self-immolation of the Clinton campaign. First the Bosnia "misspeak" (as one commenter on these boards aptly put it, "she swift-boated herself!"). Then, when her attempt to revive the Rev. Wright non-issue backfired, she claimed that Obama hadn't really been a constitutional law professor. But he was, and U Chicago Law School immediately confirmed that.

I've been kind of enjoying the conflagration. I've been roasting marshmallows.

And I was thinking that the longer this goes on, supporters on both sides are becoming republicans, especially looking at your headlines on the right.

I agree with you and its a great post - but I have to stop and think that the main Republican trait that Clinton expresses is the campaign style she is pushing. That is Rovian/Republican scorched earth campaigning that we never wanted to see in the Democratic party. Her policies are still Democratic, let us not forget that.

Then there was her economic/mortgage crisis plan this week: Put Greenspan in charge and make tort reform (let's protect the lenders from lawsuits) a centerpiece of the plan.

Then there's the flag burning amendment, the Iraq war vote, Kyl/Lieberman, voting against the cluster bomb ban. Her newest best friend, Richard Mellon Scaife.

If it looks like a duck.....

I'll give her moderate, maybe even "liberal" Republican (yes, there used to be such a thing). But together with her Rovian campaign -- more and more Republican with every passing day.

Excellent post and unfortunately and frighteningly true.

Even the great communicator in the sky said that one shouldn't talk ill of another party member.

Hillary Clinton will sink to any level to win the nomination. Aggressive politics is not equal to an intelligent Presidency.
