election results matter
Just a reminder to those HRC and BO supporters who say they will not vote for the other candidate,or they will cross over and vote McCain, Supreme court justice Stevens is 88 yrs old and if you want to see another Scalia or Thomas appointed than vote for Mc. I shudder to think what gets pushed though with another conservative justice. Just food for thought.

You are right. What is what distresses me so much.
Hillary knows it so she can act with inpunity. The immorality of that, especially as a progressive, sends me over the edge.
But what will I do if she's the nominee? Right now, I don't honestly know. I truly feel an obligation to vote AGAINST her destructive, myopic, self-absorbed behavior. I deeply believe she will be a disaster as president EXCEPT for the Supreme Court.
She can by cynical and assume this 57 year old white female feminist will just "fall in line." It disgusts me.
We'll see what deals I'll have to make with the devil in November. Right now, I'm confident I'll be voting for President Obama.

This is the great conundrum. I think it will most likely be a moot point from my standpoint- I am an Obama supporter, and I believe he will be the nominee. Still, I have contemplated what would happen if Hillary somehow managed to get the nomination.
A year ago, there would have been no question. I preferred Obama, but would happily vote for Clinton if she won. That has distinctly changed. I recognize that, solely because of the Supreme Court issue, I would have no choice but to vote for Clinton. However, I will do so unhappily.
I support any candidate's right to wage a vigorous campaign, but Clinton has crossed the line of decency so many times, it is no longer distinguishable. Her callous disregard of what is good for the party is outrageous. Her relentless attempts to use fear as a motivating political tactic have aligned her far to closely with the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that she has railed against for so many years. She is arrogant and intransigent. And I think most disturbingly, exactly like George W. Bush, she has shown herself to be completely unable to admit mistakes, or accept her own fallibility. In short, she has shown herself to have absolutely the wrong temperament to be an effective President.
So again, yes I would vote for her, for the sake of the court. And beginning January 20, 2009, I would (along with many others) begin seeking the candidate I would support in a primary challenge for 20012.
