HRC, your security clearance was?
A question no one has bothered to mention is exceedingly relevant. Exactly what was her majesty's security clearance level when she was first lady?
There are several levels, and I somehow don't think she was very high ... if even rated, therefore the "red telephone" blurb was just that, an advertising blurb, all hot air, with no substance.
This is a question that someone besides an antiquated Texan should be raising ... in the interests of national security.
Oh, why do I call her "her majesty"? Because she herself, and her minions seem to think that eight years as first lady qualify her for an elevated status.

It's a fair question, but I just looked into it and turns out it's a bit misleading. Although the First Lady doesn't have a security clearance (who would vet her, and who would then reject her?), the President can tell her anything he wants. I don't think the President technically has clearance either - again, who would vet, and who would deny any security information?

Well, yes, the President DOES have security clearance, and he IS vetted. The same agencies vet the President, as vet any other government employee ... which he is. The "First Lady"? No. And the President does NOT have the right to "tell her anything he wants", anymore than he could tell a friend who was not at his level of clearance. Many top level government employees, who have "eyes only" and above clearance hardly trot home and discuss with spouses. It would be a top level violation of clearance. I don't think anyone would have expected Mrs. Einstein to explain relativity, just because she was his wife, just as I do not think Hillary is somehow "experienced" in security matters, just by being in residence. I don't think many would think Laura Bush would qualify, either.
