I Suggest Prayer.

I have never seen the Democratic Party so angry and divided!
I predicted that eliminating Edwards and running Hillary and Obama alone against each other would cause a split in the Party that could prove to be fatal but I really had no idea of the scope that would be involved!
This has caused hatred and division between groups and individuals that were compatriots for generations! People who defended Ted Kennedy through thick and thin hate him! People who pointed with pride to the accomplishments of women made in Democratic politics talk about angry white females! And revile arguably the top two Democratic women in politics! Blacks are angry about racism, many women are angry about sexism. ( I read something on DU about Hillary needing to "hitch up her skirts"among other remarks less civil.)
What can we do?
Will the divisions be healed before November or is it too late?
Will the Party need to be rebuilt?
It's happened before!
Republicans used to Trusts busters and Democrats were the pro-slavery Party!
At this point , I don't really care WHO the nominee is! Just get it done and be good to each other!
I don't hold out a lot of hope.
But I'm serious about the prayer. And remember to do unto others , and turn the other cheek and judge not yet ye be judged and love your neighbor as you love yourself.
You know what I mean.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and not pray if it's all the same to you. Thanks.

You know, that is exactly what I have come to expect from you! And it is an attitude that won't serve you well in most venues.
You really DO need to be wished luck because you certainly won't get by on manners and charm!

Yeah, well you just keep praying. I think it's working!

I think I should pray for you. It does day to love your enemies!
Just try not to be so negative and divisive!

Are you Ned Flanders?

I'm merely a lovely young woman who likes to think that my fellow human beings are basically good and decent and (with the notable exception of many Republicans and a few Democrats in this world.) Really want things to turn out for the best and don't always just think about themselves.

Good luck with that.

In answer to your prayers, I have come back through time to protect Hillary Clinton and to defend the Democratic Party.

Okay, I'll accept that.

Perhaps there's been an error in your instructions, Reese. Those goals would appear to be contraindicated. :)

Stravu9 I get what you are proposing. I am sad and disappointed at the many ugly twists and turns this race is taking within our own party.

Ghandi wrote that we must be the change we would like to see in others so I am willing to set aside my personal feelings for either candidate and in a act of goodwill extend my hand (virtual handshake) to Billy Glad not as an Obama supporter but as human being who desperately wants the best for the Democratic party and US in an offer of peace and healing.

Khan Hussein Khan

I will gladly accept that and hope the Party IS strong enough to emerge from this stronger that before!
Peace.

I was thinking today that it's through what we do that we come to understand what is possible for human beings. If our lives are mean, cynical and base, we create for ourselves a world of equally mean, cynical and base creatures. If our lives are generous, hopeful and noble, we create the possibility of a marvelous universe. Maybe we should act in a way that makes it possible for us to believe in mankind's capacity for good. Maybe it is only through the experience of virtue in ourselves that we may come to believe in the possibility of virtue in others.

I'm going to start by protecting Hillary.

I applaud your noble goals.
You seem an optimistic and good natured individual.
I I don't believe I have ever read a mean-spirited comment from you!
Cheers!

I do say mean things sometimes. I say them to M.J. Rosenberg. I have even said mean things to DF. But I was just pulling his chain. One slayer to another so to speak.

Ach, she doesn't need your protecting. Step back from this circus and see that she may soon be the most powerful Senator ever, and if that happens, we will probably see some current bashers in a couple of years crying "sic Hillary on them." She has finally won her bonafides as a genuine Noo Yawker to boot. :-)

And don't pray for me to be redeemed from my cynicism, please, but I do wish people would pray for a website to be created where analysts and voters looking to educate themselves shoo away "supporters" of any candidate as unwelcome. :-) Months of anti-McCain talking points a coming, with freeper trolls looking to take the bait with their own spin, yeeech!

Much like the MoveOn.org site in 2004. And the freepers are getting more sophisticated.

The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy, but these are new. They look human - sweat, bad breath, everything. Very hard to spot.
