Lack of Acceptance!

I think that if Hillary does not win the nomination, it will be a mistake.  I am amazed at how many people have been mesmerized by Obama.  I for one am not.  The Democrats will either lose big or squeak by and then the fun will begin.  Obama is not ready for the Presidency and all the people that are not joining on this coattails make me laugh.  Gary Hart with his issues with the Superdelegates (guess it is okay for him to have his Monkey Business and Donna Rice issue), Breinski (Jimmy Carter's Foreign Policy Adviser -  pretty much a failure -- Iran Hostages), John Kerry, Ted Kennedy (Chappaquidick and Mary Jo Kopechne), Rev. Wright, the list goes on.  I thought Obama was for the future, it seems to me he has settled in the past.  It is okay for Rev. Wright to be an extremist because it was the generation he was raised in, but what about his children are they going to be extremists as well.  Where was Obama when his mother was dying?  Campaigning in Illinois.  My biggest complaint is that many of his supporters seem to think that everyone who supporters Hillary is uneducated, poor and/or older white women; so, their intelligence is lacking because they don't support Obama.

For me, I don't want nor do I need to have a preacher for President.  I also have had enough of the uniter image.  We have had that for the past seven plus years.  Obama is arrogant and full of himself not unlike the current occupant of the White House.  For me I will and do support Hillary.  She is the best choice for America.

OK - you have a right to your opinion. Fine. But if she isnt the nominee, will you vote for Obama?

I don't accept either. As it has always been after Iowa, it will be uphill. MI and Fl. hurts like hell but lets see what happens.

Your reasons for not liking Obama sound an awful lot like the reasons that many people didn't like Gore—he's too smart. I really can't understand that logic.

I'm an atheist, so I don't really care for all the religious rhetoric either, but there's just as much coming from the Clinton camp as the Obama camp. He's just a better speaker, so I suppose you think he sounds more like a preacher. Last time I checked, being a good speaker is not a negative. If you buy into the idea that he's an empty suit, then you are lacking in intelligence. He's given several speeches on his policies (in fact, Clinton has dinged him on his health care policy), and if you missed those speeches, you can find those policies on his web-site.

Ashlie, all due respect, being a good orator does not make you smart. I'm sure Obama is smart, but nobody thinks he's too smart. Gore sounded like he was lecturing you not necessarily smart. Obama talks inspirationally with religious allusions. He doesn't lecture the audience. He is very much like Bill Clinton, they connect with the audience. It is a talent but not necessarily a measure of his IQ.

Being a good speaker demonstrates a certain level of intelligence. Being a bad speaker, however, does not necessarily demonstrate a lack of intelligence.

Perhaps that was your point and you're just as bad a speaker as I am. ;)

"it seems he has settled in the past."

Can you believe the nerve of actual people with history in the party endorsing Obama. Why haven't the unborn future democrats endorsed him? A clear sign he cannot win the nomination.

Ashlie, I never said he was an empty suit. I am not inspired by his speeches. Also, his speeches are not full of a lot of information. I don't want to go to his website and see where either he or his advisers stand on the issues. If he truly believed in what was on his website, then he should be able to expound on them in his speeches. "Yes we can," and "Not this time," are not enough for me. When you and others question people's intelligence, you lose the argument.

MMW, you miss the point in the people that are supporting Obama. They all have their issues (many of them sexual) and, yet, many supporters of Obama have a hard on about Bill Clinton. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me.

To answer urbanamerican, Obama has to earn my vote. As of yet, he has not. Now, Obama said he would not go negative and guess what he is doing in PA. He is a typical politician and will do and say anything to be elected. Such as give a speech regarding Rev. Wright because he got caught and put in a corner. Just the same would you vote for Hillary?
