Pat Buchanan- "Slavery Brought You Black People To Christian Salvation"
What did he say? Some stuff that would make Barack's Grannie cringe, including
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.
Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Was he wearing his pointy white hood as he wrote that?

"Does anyone still listen to this moron?"
It seems like he lives at MSNBC now, they have him bunking in a special room, and bring him out whenever they need a comment about Obama.

Yes, and the over 2 million or so slaves who were killed during the process of being onto ships like cattle and shipped to the New World under inhumane conditions and treatment, America was.... uhhh not so good I suspect.

This is not surprising if you look at the real intent of Pat Buchanan. He wants to keep this controversy going, drive a racial wedge in this election and turn as many whites as possible against Obama. Pat and Rush have the same goals, except one has direct access to the MSM and has to be a little more carefull on TV. Pat would love nothing more than this creating some major controversy on its own (even as the expene of losing his MSNBC gig), generating a lot of MSM coverage, keeping the race issue firmly front and center, hoping this would turn more blue collar swing white voters against Obama.

Pat is showing his true colors. Interestingly, he was somewhat tolerable at the beginning of the campaign. Now? He's resorting to KKK David Duke style comments. MSNBC needs to suspend him or fire him.
He should be Olbermann's Worst Person In the World on Monday.

I can't believe this guy gets a seat at the table on MSNBC everyday. How does one forward this to the other talking heads on that network? If Pat Buchanan can practice what he preaches, he needs to stand up and walk away from himself.

Huh. I wonder if Pat thinks that the potato famine of the mid-1800s in Ireland was a good thing because it forced so many Irish to emigrate to the US. Or that the Holocaust was a good thing for Jews, since it instigated the creation of the state of Israel.
Typical right wing freak.

Hey, the man is a dink. We all know that. I pay so little attention to him that I do not even know what his response to Reverand Hagee's "whore of babylon" critique of the holy roman catholic church. Jeez I'll bet it was scathing and unequivocal. It was in a catholic seminary that Mr holier than thou sought refuge during the Viet Nam draft days.
The truth is that his morals just like his outrage and indignity are for sale He is living proof that the good die young.

This guy is truly off the rails but it's nothing new. We are supposed to believe blacks are LUCKY just like Obama is LUCKY. We never would have needed public aid programs targeted towards a marginalized sector of the population if we hadn't put them there to begin with. Jeesh - what a moron.

Well, I have to confess that I think Pat has the sexiest comb-over of anyone! Expecially when he embellishes it with a little bit of shoe polish!
Then he squeaks out his nonsense and the mood is gone forever!

To paraphrase the late, great Molly Ivins, Many people did not care for Pat Buchanan's blog; it probably sounded better in the original German.

Show some respect. His father was mortally wounded in Germany, WWII. Fell out of his guard tower.

I love the parsed phrasing. The ships were slave ships, but once the black folks got here... voila! They bred like rabbits and found SALVATION WITH JESUS!
They have every reason to jump for joy and vote Republican, because whatever their masters do is obviously going to bring them closer to the Good News.
For all Pat knows, they'd still be in Africa worshipping graven idols and condemned to damnation. If it wasn't for the charity and sacrifice of the Europeans, they'd never been allowed to help farm, build, pray, sing, dance, and provide adequate leisure time for their owners.
I love that Pat uses Jesus as a shield. As if Jesus would enjoy having slavery laid at his feet like a human sacrifice.
"He gets whipped all the time, but hey, at least he prays to you while it happens!"
There is so much hatred and sadism in Pat Buchanan's little love note that it is causing me physical pain to comprehend it.

Every time I want to giggle and say "funny, funny, bigoted old white fart", I remind myself of the vote totals of 04. This is deadly serious, he is not marginal.

Pat Buchanan need to get over himself because Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States-- And he can't do a thing about it! If Pat Buchanan doesn't like it, he can kiss where the sun don't shine!
Pat Buchanan's kind of astounding ignorance is the reason for so much hatred & racism.
Yes Pat Buchanan, a black man will be president of this country! And thousands upon thousands, upon thousands of Blacks, Whites,Asians, & Native Americans will run to the polls voting for him to put him in office. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Pat needs a history lesson. Does he ever wonder why the English treated the Irish like Black people? Well, according to David McRichie in his book "Ancient and Modern Britons" The original Irish people were Black. Also, what religion did they practice before they were exposed to Christianity?
So Pat Buchanon is either ignorant or a hypocrit or both.
