The show-stopper for me in Lowey's Meet the Press interview was when Russert asked her when/if the Clinton campaign was going to release tax returns and records related to funding the Presidential Library. Lowey skirted the question completely, saying that to focus on questions about things like tax returns would just give the Republicans fodder for the Fall campaign (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Russert didn't pursue it, didn't even blink. Does anyone else think this is absolutely insane, perverse logic?
Lowey's dodge on that was classic. Because the Clinton Global Initiative has done good things, and because she's borne witness to them, disclosure is unwarranted. Her appearance was rife with non sequitur ... Bradley was probably a little more rough and gruff than Obama would prefer, but Lowey was a train wreck.
I just checked the MSNBC transcript. Lowey's remark that asking about Clinton's financial records aids the enemy came just before her Mark-Penn-like excursion into the Wright-Obama issue. I was so incensed about the first that I left the room and missed the second:
I'm not discussing today why Senator Barack Obana--Barack Obama didn't associate - disassociate himself from his pastor six months ago, and those remarks, because I think we have to have a constructive debate,...

Didn't he allow HRC to tap dance around the same issue in the last debate? Remember, when she acted all annoyed, then said she was too busy campaigning to get to it? I know Russert has been around since dinosaurs roamed, but...is he just a lousy journalist or is he in the tank for HRC and/or both?
