The Power of Hillary's Hunger for Power
I felt a little sorry for her here, just recognizing the level of exhaustion and passion she must have, when she responded to how she stays "so upbeat and wonderful" (bolds mine)
"It's not easy, and I couldn't do it if I didn't passionately believe it was the right thing to do," said Clinton, getting visibly emotional. "You know, I have so many opportunities from this country I just don't want to see us fall backwards."
"You know, this is very personal for me. It's not just political, it's not just public. I see what's happening, and we have to reverse it," she added, with her voice breaking and eyes growing teary.
I'm with you Hillary - let's work together to reverse it. Our country, and our constitution are at stake. We have to win the white house.
What's that? You have something else to say?
"I have a lifetime of experience I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain [the presumptive Republican nominee] has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he made in 2002"
Aha! I see Hillary! You praise McCain over Obama, so it's not the country you're really worried about, it's your personal hunger for power. My mistake.

I've got to say that I agree. I thought her comments in New Hampshire were real, and I liked her better for them, but she's completely lost me now. I never understood the 'Hillary Haters' before, but I guess she's finally convinced me.
I feel stupid for sticking up for her all these years, but I'll never fall for it again. From now on, I won't vote for her for ANY position under ANY circumstances. She doesn't represent the best of the Democratic Party, but the worst. As far as I'm concerned, she can run for the Republican ticket openly now.

Go back to her comments from NH. At first she tears up and talks about her concern for the country. Next, she regroups and says, well.... some of us are ready on day 1 and some of us are not. (to me, right there you can see how she was looking to tie herself to McCain - or whoever - and concerned about gaining power.... not the good of the country).

Obama praised Reagan and repubs over dems - do you hate him too? Here's an idea - maybe BOTH candidates are trying to position themselves to pick up Reagan dems and independents in the general election.

I don't hate Hillary.
I do think this was a dumb move on her part, particularly because her praise is directed at the current Republican nominee. Should she lose the nomination, the Republicans will regurgitate this from then to November.
Obama's reference to Reagan referred to how Reagan changed 'the trajectory of America' - which he did - but did not praise Reagan's policy. Regardless of how you took his remarks, Reagan is not running for president this time around.

I guess he should make sure not to appear to heap to much praise on Lincoln as well.

Can you defend her on this one?
http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/03/hillary_pledged_delegates_can.php
She is planning to try to convince the delegates Obama earned in the nominating contests to break their pledges. Is it OK to steal the election if you cannot win it?

Bev, you don't get it. Obama isn't power hungry like Hillary is. He wants to be president so that he can save our souls. Barack Obama, D - Heaven.

Ok this is baffling. You are comparing Hillary's praise of McCain to Obama's praise of Regan's appeal. OK.
(whisper) I hate to point this out to you. But Regan is not running against the dems. He is dead. Just thought you ought to know in case you were planning to use this argument in further threads.

There's power hungry, which you need to be, to even aspire to be a president.
Then there's power hungry on the level that you throw your party under the bus if you don't get your way.
Thankfully, in Obama's case, he didn't learn to behave that way in Heaven.

Uh... he won his first election by bullying his more popular opponent out of the race. Obama will smile while he stabs you in the back.

Lets revisit that wonderful day in NH. The Keith Olbermann way! For on that same teary day she invoked what used to be only the Republican mantra:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BB4Vvgn_4k
"I don't think it was by accident that al-Qaeda decided to test the new prime minister immediately. They watch our elections as closely as we do, maybe more than some of our fellows citizens do. They play our, you know, allies. They do everything they can to undermine security in the world. So let's not forget you're hiring a president not just to do what a candidate says he or she wants to do in a election. You're hiring a president to be there when the chips are down."
In other words, the terrorists will surely attack us if a "less experienced" president is elected. So vote for Senator Obama if you want the evildoers to kill us all.
