To TPM Management: Another software suggestion
Can you please fix the software so that you have put multiple URL links in blogs and responses to blog posts?
The software currently limits us to one link per post (at least that's what I've deduced).
One would think that lots of references are valuable to ground a discussion. Even in a blog.
<it>If you want to see this fixed, please recommend this post to get Josh's attention.</it>

It's likely someone else has already mentioned this, but after posting my first blog entry a short while ago, I was really surprised to discover that there is no (obvious) way to edit a post once it's been submitted.
Kind of sucky, that!

I still can't search for my recent posts or comments so I have no real way of carrying on a conversation in this format. It has been quite a while now. Are things ever going to be resolved around here?
You know, it would be really worth the effort to have the tech management put up some sort of blog that would let us know that they are still trying to resolve things. But then I've been recommending that for so long.............sigh

I've also recommended a weekly blog post on updates for the bugs. The responses I've gotten from Andrew were along the lines of "We don't have anything to report."
I guess you've noticed that they've populated all the past posts from the Front Pagers, as well as their comments since the get-go.
It's just not a priority to "update" the database with established-users' posts or comments. Why bother, right? They don't contribute to the click-thru or blog churn. TPM writers can't take any new ideas from old blog posts.
I would compare the site switch here with that over at HuffPo. Much cleaner update there, with plenty of tech support, and plenty of updates. Oh, and the features seem to be better, there, too.

There's been a lot written about the new media, push, pull etc. You'd think of all organizations to get it these guys would. It kind of boggles my mind.
[Again with the "please enter username and password" sheesh]
{Again with the "Invalid username/password..." double sheesh]

Ironically, there is a place in the profile that purports to show you your most "recent" posts. However, all of mine there are from 2005.

I'll be posting an update on all of this later today.

Hi Andrew!
Another gripe: When I visit any TPM site with Firefox 2, the browser almost always locks up for a several seconds, then gives a "Unresponsive Script" warning. This is a major pain. Is a fix on the way for that, too? Thanks in advance.
I think TPM is a very valuable resource, so thanks for all you guys do!

That's because of the ads from adclick.

Ditto this. But don't blame it on adclick. TPMCafe is the ONLY site I've seen with this problem.

It would be nice, too, to have a FAQ in terms of how to post links, do HTML, etc.

That's actually what I'm going to be posting tonight and asking for feedback on.

Throw my vote in for the fact that I have to sign-in multiple times to make a comment. When I start, my username is up top and I'm obviously logged-in, but when I try to post a comment, the thing throws me into a loop of signing-in and it takes multilple tries for the thing to take hold. What's even worse is that I'm forced to resubmit my log-in info several times to make one comment, then when I go on to another post and wish to comment on it, I've got to go through the whole thing again.

OK, So glad you started this thread:
1. Will you ever fix it so that previously read posts are marked? It is a huge pain to go back through one that has more than 50 responses, and then you see it is up to say, 55. The new ones aren't always at the bottom, you know.
2. I cannot get my password to work for postings. I try it, and when it gets rejected, I put in the one that was sent weeks ago (and that I edited). Sometimes that one works, and sometimes it doesn't. Now I have 3; because I clicked on "forgot your password" and got a 3rd one. I also edited that one out to make my one password work. But sometimes I get "bad password" message and then I enter #3 and it works! That just takes too much effort. I want one password that works for everything. I have sent emails asking for help that haven't been answered.
3. I, like Hillary Clinton, will "take you at your word" that "as far as I know" you are fixing the problem of not being able to track posts.
Doesn't that make you feel good? Now you know how Barack feels!

I too have found that when I was trying to post a response, then the password and name were re-requested.
It appeared as though my posting was not accepted, and I resubmitted, (a duplicate)
Keep up the good work of reporting, A great alternative to the MSM spin

Ground control to Major Tom...
Please either beg, borrow or steal HuffPo's technos' stuff or hire them.
This is the most intelligent, engaging poli-site in the sphere - it should not be a chafe to participate. We minions contribute in our own, small, apparently unappreciated ways to your accolades.
Please, baby baby, please. Jeez. Ain't too proud to beg.
