Did Chris Matthews announce on the Colbert Report he's running . . .
. . . for Arlen Specter's senate seat or was I just having a bad dream? Does he still live here in Pennsylvania or is he going to move back in with his mother? And which party exactly will he be running in???

Ha! Chris Matthews as a senator. I can't see it mostly because it's hard to take him seriously. Is that why he's been doing the "college tours"?

He didn't announce. He just said he'd wanted that job his whole life. That leaves room for him to talk to activists, donors,and pollsters and decide that his dream isn't going to happen. He also did an interesting job of stalling by repeating fragments of the question before saying the part about his whole life.
