Earhquake?

Did anyone just feel an earth quake? Seriously? 5:37 a.m. South central Indiana. Have been through quakes in N. Cal. & Mexico City, not major, but this one was bumpy and relatively long for here, worst I have experienced. No damage in this rural village. Nothing on news yet. Utilties functional. Anywhere else?

5.4 SE Illinois.

Sorry, that's "Earthquake". Pretty shakey, was ready to hit the door.

Glad you're OK drpangloss.

Thanks. Local news on it now. A 5.4 earthquake hit along the Illinois/ Indiana just southwest of Vincennes, Indiana at 5:38. Felt as far away as Chicago, Davenport,Ia, Fort Wayne, IN, Louisville, KY. No major damage or injuries reported. Vincennes University dorms evacuated. Possible flight delays at Indianapolis Airport, control tower evacuated.

You were not imagining it.

Looks like all clear. Minor damage, no injuries. Indianapolis airport reopen, runways and tower inspected. Nothing like limestone bedrock.

Yep yep, felt it here too. My first earthquake! It was quite awesome in the literal sense of the word.

Obama spoke, and the earth trembled. Bow down, all.

(I was sound asleep, in Chicago.)
