funny I show up & its all downhill for Obama
I hate to have to point out that my odd brand of commentary was not well received here in the most audaciously hopeful pro-Barrack website.
I have been mocked, with merit, for grammatical and other sins, and that is all well and good.
But, as much as it pains me to point this out, my protestations of the giddy, cocky and snooty attitude of many Obama supporters was not yet justified, of course I was mocked, told to do math and such.
Well, after this week in April, things no longer seem the same. Hmmm...could it be that I was prescient and many of you were not?
I can adhere to literary standards, they simply bore me, but I did try to write in a semblence of terse correctness...you could sum it up in the crass, I told you so, but I am far above such ripe fruit.
So now the race in NC tightens, Hillary looks solid in Indiana...hey, funny how a short time changes perspective, if you look with no rose colored opticals.
there are liberal weenies, then there are liberals like myself, who do not fit the life story of most liberals, and have little patience with folks with lack of foresight.
I am being proven right about Obama, he lapses as Hillary surges...why not the best?

You remind me of my cat Wallace, for some reason.
That being said, I wish you nothing but sheer happiness as you dance your jig of glee tonight over the way the polls look tonight because the polls won't look this way by next Tuesday.

Politics has ups and downs. Hillary survived a month of losing and has gained some momentum. There is no guarantee she will keep it. There is also no guarantee she will win. Barack will weather the storm and end up stronger for it.

Except, except, if Obama is the nominee, can you really be proud of Hillary Clinton for dragging him down? Or, if she wins, can any of us really look forward to the 4 bitter, devisive years she is certain to cause and preside over?

Cherry,
You just wrote the following two statements:
"you could sum it up in the crass, I told you so, but I am far above such ripe fruit."
"I am being proven right about Obama, he lapses as Hillary surges...why not the best?"
You are a Tuzla Double Speak Liberal.

cherry grainger, you do yourself a big disservice. You wax poetic even though I hear a bit of nah-nah-nah-na na behind your words.
You are right that it's very difficult sometimes to have a civil conversation at a site when a blog declares outright for a candidate or its blogger community declares just by the tone of its posts.
I used to pop into Taylor Marsh because I thought she was a sharp Democrat, up on the issues I was interested in. With her support behind Hillary it's very obvious to me that I would never be able to post there unless I rolled over and showed my belly like a Bassett Hound. I stop by once in awhile to see what crap she's rolled out about Barack Obama.
I think TPM is great because you get posts on all the political issues and your own blog to post. Can we all stop getting snarky during the heat of the battle? I don't think so. I have no problem attacking Hillary personally. A horse is a horse and this horse says she's comfortable in the kitchen.
Should you be attacked personally for supporting Hillary? Never and I'll say I'm sorry if that happens.

very nice comment.
Just a little schadenfreude you couldn't help but share with everyone, Cherry?
My goodness.

Interesting comment since I haven't been able to grab a clue what you think you mean.

I am switching from Obama to Hillary because God has chosen Hillary, and provided her with The Wright Stuff.

Cherry, I think you take far too much credit for events outside of your control.
However, we are happy to continue mocking you. It is not your literary style, but source of subject.
You must be bored, too, by suggestions that you study the delegate calculators and "do the math."
That's okay. Talk "smack" now. You're delightful comic relief. And remember, we're not laughing with you, we're laughing at you.

Jade, where's that sensitive Catholic from just a few posts ago? Are you now sacrificing Cherry on the altar of your inhumanity? LOL

I fail to see how "it's all downhill" anyway.
If someone can show me one feasible way that Hillary Clinton could possibly get the nomination - maybe you'd have a point.
But your schadenfreude isn't enough to get her there - do the math. It's impossible.
Downhill? No. Another bump in the road to the White House.

All downhill? Obama's been dominating the MSM and the nets all day, and he's receiving kudos for his actions today. Plus he picked up two supers. Is cherry short for "cherrypicker"?

Lapses? Surges? Rumsfeldisms?
Hillary failed to put a dent in the delegate gap in PA. She won't do any better in IN. She's run out of "big states" (that matter) to make up the deficit.
Obama is a deft basketball player. He knows how to exploit a ticking shot-clock.

I have always been cautiously optimistic about Barack Obama. Never sure he'd win.
The "do the math" certainty makes me uneasy. Hubris and all that...much like Hillary's confidence that she'd win right out of the gate.
Still, Obama is extraordinary, and I still think there are enough Americans who see what he can do for this injured country. Some days I see him as our ONLY way out of this political quagmire and into a better future.
But I'm by no means certain he'll win. I watched this same country vote for Bush TWICE (well, maybe only once...) and send itself into a spiral of awful. Anything is possible.
I don't know for sure, as you seem to, what the outcome of this will be. I am up at night worried about the choice America has in front of it...but I am by no means sure of anything anymore.
Enjoy your moment...seriously. I know it feels good because we have been there, too.
If you're wrong...you're more than welcome to join our celebration of Barack Obama. There are no "points" for picking the winning candidate. This is not a game...at least not for me.
