It's over: Springsteen endorses Obama
Yes, celebrity endorsements are usually a yawn, but this is Springsteen. According to an article recently published at the ABC News online site, in the announcement, Springsteen said the following:
<blockquote>Recent Obama "comments and relationships" the Boss says in his letter to fans "have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision...often in order to distract us from discussing the real issues: war and peace, the fight for economic and racial justice, reaffirming our constitution and the protection and enhancement of our environment."</blockquote>
Coming on the eve of the PA primary, and following the dust up over the "bitter" comment about small towns, this is a very good thing for Obama.
Obama "speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past 35 years, a generous nation with a citizenry willing to tackle nuanced and complex problems, a country that's interested in its collective destiny and in the potential of its gathered spirit."More from Springsteen:"A place where '...nobody crowds you, and nobody goes it alone,'" the iconic musician continued in his letter, quoting from his 2007 song "Long Road Home".

You, Wordie, are an honorable person. I did the same thing about another topic a few days ago. I made a comment that explained it, but didn't think to link to the blog. That was a good idea.
I saw the other Springsteen blog, but I liked your title better and so I came here first. Titles, like words, do matter!

Not only that, some of us are hesitant to recommend a post from Potus Obama 2008, based off his past history…
On the other hand, I suppose an argument could be made for attempting to shape his behavior by rewarding him when he's doing it right!

Thanks, CVille. It's embarrassing to do a repeat post and I was kicking myself for not checking first, so I appreciate your kind words.

Damn, I was about to give you an award for being the third person to post this topic today!

OK, ok, I'm thoroughly chastened. But you have to admit it's pretty exciting, especially given the timing. I'm hoping the endorsement will speak to at least some of the working class voters that Obama needs in PA.
