New Clinton Endorsement Today: Me
Recently I read a TPM blog post that put the entire race in perspective and I had an "aha!" moment of enlightenment. The blog could be summarized like this:
As I drank my morning coffee it began to add up. I started to do the math over and over in my head:
In the face of this irrefutable evidence, I, Yoda, hereby switch my alligience from Barack Obama to Hillary Clinton.
I urge the TPM community to embrace the new math and embrace the presumptive nominee so that we may move forward with one voice and defeat the true enemy in the Fall: Barack Obama. He is so unprepared to be President and he is so woefully unelectable, that the Clinton campaign and her mighty grassroots supporters (like me) will continue to focus our attention through the general election on the one person who we know cannot pick up the red phone ringing at 3am. The working class white voters, who are the most important in the big swing states, will reward this focus on our opponent (Barack Obama) and will vote for Hillary Clinton in record numbers in November.
Please join the movement for super duper real change. We're going to win. It's a fact. Just do the math.
Hillary will win. Definitely. (I'm paraphrasing)
As I drank my morning coffee it began to add up. I started to do the math over and over in my head:
Hillary + will + win = definitely. Now let's look at that equation. We have the who (Hillary) the when (will) and the what (win) and everyone knows that when you can answer the questions to "who?", "when?" and "what?" then you get an answer that is a cold hard fact.
It's the beginning of the end for Obama.

I think it's the beginnning of the end for Hillary.
Let's say she wins the nomination, I doubt she'll win against McCain in November and then it's completely over for her.
Barack could lose in November to McCain, but we'd be looking at a sure win in 2012.
It's the end alright but no way is it the end for Obama.
Our guys just getting started.

Newt was just on The View talking up Hillary. That says that the GOP wants to run against her. She's easier to beat than Obama.
Trust me, there will be new dirt on Bill Clinton. The private investigator for Larry Flint during the Bill Clinton impeachment, Dan E. Moldea, was quoted in The Washington Post saying just that; conservatives have been/are collecting dirt on him.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/07/AR2007080702078.html
Do you think Bill has really changed his ways? He's had 7+ years since Monica and has traveled the world. What has he been doing besides earning millions?
If Hillary is our nominee, how do you think a new scandal will look in Sept? No one can mention Monica now...Barack has too much dignity, although he could destroy her with it.
Every time I heard Hillary ask about vetting Obama, I wondered...has Bill been vetted recently?

I have decided not to vote for Obama because he is African American, but that does not mean I'm a racist.
I am a realist! You see, I'm just not voting for him because he is black because black people can't be elected because other people are racist.
But not me. And certainly never Clinton.
She is the victim of race-baiting. (Nowadays, white people tend to be the real victims of racism, anyway. I feel so sorry for her for being white! That's another reason to vote for her, but it doesn't mean I'm racist or that race is a real factor in this election.)
(Accept that it makes Obama unelectable.)
Clinton is a tenacious fighter who bonds with working people over beer (but never racism).
I will follow your path and vote for Clinton because, as I think Martin Luther King once said,
"Why bother fighting, when you can drink a beer and say you did?"

It's not simply that she's a toast-dry policy wonk who wants to have a long talk about it, it's that she's simultaneously vitriolic AND forgetful! A pinch of bellicosity here, a dash of conspiracy theory there and you can see the delightfully bizarre cookie dough that Clinton's putting in the oven. And damnit, I want some of them cookies.

I have also recently learned that the Republicans used up all their material attacking Hillary in the 90s and will have nothing to attack her with now, and that since the Clintons were "cleared of all charges" there are no scandals attached to them that anyone could possibly bring up in the general. The general election campaign is all going to be Hillary announcing she is a fighter and Republicans cowering in her wake. And Obama's pastor is a scary black preacher man. So, next week yoda, when another Hillary faux pas crops up, are you going to switch back again? If you thought Obama was unprepared to be President, why did you support him in the first place?
Some of us vote for principles -- not who is most electable. Hillary's dishonesty should have already disqualified her from consideration in the minds of every voter and the party leadership. It wasn't just the lie -- it was the chillingly convincing way she told it. When Larry Craig lied publicly, the GOP shunned him. Hillary lies and the party leadership is shockingly silent.
Just consider the Youtube reel of Hillary lying about Travel Gate, Monica Gate, and Bosnia Gate. Match that up with Bill's very public lies. Anyone who thinks Hillary is more electable better wake up and take a whiff.

The black vote: Sad but true(felons can't vote). This leaves mostly black women that can actually vote.
The disproportionate representation of black Americans in the U.S. criminal justice system is well documented.
Blacks comprise 13 percent of the national population, but 30 percent of people arrested, 41 percent of people in jail, and 49 percent of those in prison. Nine percent of all black adults are under some form of correctional supervision (in jail or prison, on probation or parole), compared to two percent of white adults. One in three black men between the ages of 20 and 29 was either in jail or prison, or on parole or probation in 1995.
One in ten black men in their twenties and early thirties is in prison or jail. Thirteen percent of the black adult male population has lost the right to vote because of felony disenfranchisement laws.
April 29, 2008 7:00 PM | Reply | Permalink
WARNING - SINCERE COMMENT BELOW
Remember though that in most states ex-felons can register to vote once their sentence has been served. North Carolina is an example of a state with this law. Florida and a handful of other state disenfranchise a person forever (although if that person moves to a state like NC, they can vote again).
I would say it's a bit of a stretch to say that "mostly black women that can actually vote."
But it is true that these felon laws were designed by conservatives who understand the demographics and are seeking to disenfranchise a segment of the population.

Trust me, there will be new dirt on Bill Clinton. The private investigator for Larry Flint during the Bill Clinton impeachment, Dan E. Moldea, was quoted in The Washington Post saying just that; conservatives have been/are collecting dirt on him.

But what happens if a new scandal appears?
Every time I heard Hillary ask about vetting Obama, I wondered...has Bill been vetted recently?

I am now convinced that Hillary will win, and I am now switching from supporting Obama to accepting that Hillary will win.
God has chosen Hillary to win, and that is why he has provided her with The Wright Stuff!

McCain has stated that women do not deserve equal pay.
Hillary has already lost the nomination, so she's staying in to drag Obama down to defeat in the fall so she can run again in 2012.
Thus - are you following this, ladies? -
A vote for Hillary is a vote for McCain is a vote AGAINST YOURSELVES.
Ladies, are you really feeling stupid now?

I can't believe that hard core, reasoned Obama supporters like Urban and Ben would give up so easily. Though I'm a known Clinton supporter, I'm very disappointed in you guys because you showed me to be an idiot.
When the poker action got really hot a couple of summer vacations back, I got in dead stroke and played in 26 poker games over about a six week period without ever calling anyone on the final bet and losing. One guy that secretly followed the streak said it was the most amazing thing he'd ever seen.
But I was dead ass wrong about you guys. I had you pegged for deer-in-the-headlights biased jumpers who hate Clinton worse than Bush-Cheney-McCain.
Have I lost it? This the last week of school. I wonder what's going to happen when I start playing poker again.

I think that he got the joke and was just playing along. At least I hope that was what was going on there.

Hail Hillary the Heroine-HHH (Minnesota is HHH country)
and not to lose the thread-irony is not a word made up on the Colbert Report (sic truthy)
THIS is irony (
from dazzleman at the Atlas Forum
"Reagan had the relatively rare ability to even get some people who opposed his policies to vote for him. I think you hit the nail on the head when you spoke about his tapping into hopes and aspirations.
For those who didn't live through the period, it's hard to explain the level of hopelessness, helplessness and sense of decline that had beset the US, and really the entire west, in the years leading up to Reagan's election in 1980. People had little faith in the future, and had been conditioned to believe that the best we could hope for was a controlled decline.
Reagan was like a ray of light in a room that had been dark for a very long time. There was something about people's reaction to him that transcended their political views. He made many people, myself included, believe, some for the first time, that the future might be good, and allowed us to view it with hope rather than foreboding. And he made people feel good about their country in a way that no president since possibly JFK had.
I wish there were somebody like Reagan on the horizon for 2008. Maybe there is, and we'll find out later. Nobody predicted before Reagan came into office that he would have the effect on the country's morale that he had. I hope for somebody like Reagan to be our next president -- somebody who can get us to transcend petty differences, and get at least some people to think about what they like and love more than what they hate.
Nobody could have beaten Reagan in 1984."
HAIL HILLARY the HEROINE-HHH
"News flash", election day 2008-John McCain and HHH lose to Reagan Obama in a landslide-bummer, say it ain't so)

I find your comment degrading to heavy people who support the Clintons.
And I vote!
We're here for you, Hillary!
