Obama rally in Philly: record crowd

The crowd at the Philly rally was the biggest one for Obama yet at around 35,000-most importantly he did it without Oprah.

Also there ws a bit of an 'after party'!

Good thing that crowd didn't have torches & pitchforks! I thought they sounded pretty rowdy at the rally, the video illustates it. I do wish they had one stop voting, we might have seen them march right out and vote.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the typical crowd size for primary campaign rallies?

Great question. I can only poll my own memory as I don't have a spreadsheet on it. So that won't help much, because, admittedly I have paid closer attention to O's #'s.

Perhaps other post-ers here have ready access to a more complete picture.

Kerry drew a sizable crowd in Philly during the general in '04 - I wish I could remember the number, but it was not anything like this.
