What's The Real Choice Here? (Re-Do)
As far as the question of who will be our Democratic nominee, we have two choices.
On one hand, we have a known liar. Not only a liar, but a cold, calculating, bought and paid for, polarizing, political beast.
On the other hand, we have an ostensibly trustworthy person who's made a few blunders and errors in personal judgment, but has been spot-on in terms of the major policy questions of the day. And who shows deep concern, affection and circumspection about the issues which face our nation today.
For me, that choice is still really simple.
Obama '08

I love some of your posts, but your two double-posts have pushed the interesting work of others off the bottom of the list. Daily Kos has a one post per day limit, and it's a good model to follow. I try to, but obviously I'll sometimes kick out a few in one day, but even I only put up another post once my previous one has disappeared from the list.
You post good material. But so do others.

In regards to your post, I think Obama did what he had to do, and did it with, is the correct term "gravitas"? He had to make a choice between a personal relationship and his political responsibility. It was visible that he was saddened and angry to be put in such a position, and I think he spent a lot of time thinking through what would be best for the country. Today was a huge character test for Obama, and I think he handled it well.

It's not one double post that's the problem; it's that he posts 7 different posts at once (every day), so he dominates the Recent Readers list 24/7. Sorry, but he's just not that brilliant.
I doubt he'll listen to me or anyone else. If he doesn't stop, however, I'll complain to Josh. It's not his blog; it's a community. If he want his own blog, he should do the work to set one up and maintain it.

One day, a great troll named BS came to the blog and roared a mighty challenge. Except that it didn't work the first time, so he had to do it a second time. Another great troll named RS heard the challenge and came to do battle. Oh how the blog shook under their mighty blows. And then BS invoked the dreaded "maxipad" attack. RS might have been defeated once and for all, but the mighty Wizard Golis appeared and told them both to grow up.
Chastened, they whacked and whacked but slightly more subdued this time, and all the creatures of the blog came forth, each to cheer its own hero.
In the end, nothing was learned, no one was persuaded, and everyone's time was wasted. But the creatures of the blog were mightily entertained.
And thus ended the Great Troll Battle of April 30th. May it go down in history as dumbest thread in the history of Talking Points Memo.
