Why is This man Pointing a Rifle at Obama?
I know that HufferPost verges on being overtly anti-Obama, put does the photo on the front page showing some guy pointing a rifle at Obama really seem to be an acceptable message for them to be putting out?

The photo is in the lower right column of the front page. Sorry I can't post it here. In the realm of subliminal advertising, this ranks pretty high in the category of poor taste and judgement.
The photo links to Mayhill Fowler's latest hit piece, so I guess the symbolism is telling:

The HuffPo has gone downhil.. The last few weeks have had many distorted headlines and sensationalist photos.
Mayhill Fowler donated money to Fred Thompson. Seems like a GOP plant. She has had repeated hitpieces against Obama and likes to call him "cocky"

They might as well have a photo of a noose placed next to his picture. Uggghhh.

That's nothing compared to the photos I saw posted on some small-town PA newspaper blogs. Good god, I was horrified. Yet these were posted before the alleged "gaffe."

I read a study once that showed that people who weren't getting enough sex tended to see more sexual symbolism than people who were. As long as the rifle doesn't look like a penis, you're doing okay.
That rifle barrel is pointing down and to the right of Obama. Hard to see that because of the color bar at the bottom of the photo.
Huffington Post pro-Clinton? That's pretty funny.

Um, where did I say that HuffPo was pro-Clinton?
Dude, now you're seeing things. I also didn't pick up on the homo-erotic aspect of the photo, so thanks for pointing that out to me as well. You seem to have a good eye for some things.

Opus,
Of course is important to be informed, but here is the trick:
Every time one of us clicks on that post, they make money. That encourages the Media to be sensasionalist. Such a catch 22!

How right you are! I quit visiting HuffPo a long time ago because it reminded me a lot of The Drudge Report. Ick! They're anti-Obama, anti-Clinton--whatever's the most sensational story du jour!

"Clinton Support Among White Women Slipping In Pennsylvania..."

Considering this link came from THE SAME Huffpost home page, I wouldn't relegate them to the "Mean Girls for Hillary" club as yet. I made that mistake when one of them first trashed Edwrds for his haircut, and I fond out later that Arriana herself agreed with me that it was a cheap shot.
There a lot of DLCers' posting there, Joe Wilson among them, who have been a bit harsh on Obama as their inevitable candidate lost her inevitability.
And that is something like losing one's virginity, once the campaign mo has turned so thoroughly, there's just no getting it back.
The Huffpost represents too many bloggers to call it slanted.

I think this is a little bit of a stretch. It's too angled. You really have to search to find that message, and if anyone's doing that, they probably weren't convinceable to begin with.
