Hillary: Republican Lite?
Have you noticed how comfortable Hillary seems since adopting her Republican Lite mode?
To Congress: Are you with us or against us? on the gas tax.
On Iran: we will completely obliterate them!
Innuendo: " . . . well as far as I know (Obama is not a Muslim)
"Rich people . . God bless us!"
Throw in an assortment of scare tactics, lies, exaggerations, some mud-slinging(Blumenthal's emails based on radical right wing articles),and mockery and Voila! Republican lite! No wonder the Right Wing pundits are falling over themselves praising her. (Of course they would never actually vote for her but they love being emulated.)
You can take a Goldwater girl out of her hard scrabble life in Scranton and let her rebel at the liberal bastions of Wellesley and Yale, but her liberal varnish might just prove to be very thin indeed.

It's no surprise. She's never been a liberal; she's at best a DLC democrat, which makes her a friend to industry, including what we used to call multinational corporations, domestic oil & gas production, free trade, (the DLC supports CAFTA, by the way). Like so many Republican politicians, she says she's for the little guy, but the "real Americans" she speaks of consist more of industry lobbies than the lower middle and working class people who are being tricked into voting for her.
Geez, I really should follow Jason W's advice and get the hell out of the house in to the nice weather. I've been reading political news and blogs all morning; as Jason says, there's more to life.

I'm going to try to temper this message a little. I didn't do extensive research on the DLC. I stand by my observations of Hillary's positions, and I agree she's suspiciously comfortable with her new moderate-Republican identity, but I didn't thoroughly research her history or her current commitment to the DLC.
How's that for humility?
