lose/lose for Hillary

I keep hearing all of these arguments about Michigan and Florida.  I wonder what Hillary thinks would happen if she gets both Michigan and Florida to count, and she gets the delegates she wants.  I'll try to get past the fact that this is ridiculously unfair for Obama who understood, as Hillary did, that the delegates will not be seated because the States broke the rules.  This is something that they both agreed on!!!  But anyway, i'm going to pretend that it is ok to do what Hillary wants.  What does she think will happen if she gets her way?  What do you think will happen?  I mean, it is still very hard for her to get the nomination even if she gets her way with Florida and Michigan, but let's pretend that she does win the nomination.  What would that mean?  What would happen with Obama supporters?  I see that Hillary supporters say that they will not vote for Obama, but how would Obama supporters feel if she wins the nomination by cheating?  I know that the democratic party would lose my vote.  Would it not lose yours?  This is a lose/lose for Hillary Clinton.  In order for her to win the nomination she must get her way in Michigan and Florida, but if she gets her way in Michigan and Florida and gets the nomination because of it, the Democratic Party will shoot itself in the face and lose the presidency to the Old Man.

The argument is to say, "more people have voted for me than for my opponent" when in reality, more people have voted against her than for her. That's what the uncommitted Michigan vote amounted to and why she doesn't want it to count in Obama's column. She's trying to con people into thinking that she has the popular vote and therefore should become the nominee because more people have voted for her if you exclude caucus states and the Michiganders that voted against her.

If Hillary gets the nomination somehow, he Clintons don't care if it's a lose lose. They give it a shot. If they lose, they try again in 2012.

I think my point is that the only way for her to get the nomination is by getting her way in Michigan and Florida. If she gets her way in Michigan and Florida then there will be no more Hillary Clinton. Not now, not in 2012, not ever. She will forever be known as the candidate that won by cheating Obama out of the nomination. I don't see Hillary getting more than 5-10% of the African American vote EVER. If she cheats Obama out of the nomination a significant amount of democrats will turn their back on Hillary Rodham Clinton forever.

I understand your point. As far as I'm concerned, the very idea of having already demanded that MI and FL be seated as is, was the end of Hillary Clinton.

It seems that the Clintons have overestimated their chances ever since this election began. And every step of the way.

I'm hoping May 31st is no different.

Agreed.

It's difficult to see how Hillary is helping herself these days. She can't be the nominee. Unless she campaigns her ass off for Obama, if Obama loses the election, she'll be blamed.

Her argument about MI and FL is palpable garbage, a complete con that any child could tell you is absurd. There will be a rules committee meeting on the 31st that makes a recommendation about MI and FL. On June 4, the superdelegates will flock to Obama. He'll be the presumptive nominee with a majority of all pledged and promised superdelegates. If Hillary continues sniping at him after that, she'll basically be abandoning her political career, unless she plans on starting a third party.

Hillary would be UNELECTABLE if the party gives her the nom.

The tracking polls showing that she would defeat McCain (as would Obama) would strongly flip against her because of the electoral damage such an action would do to the Dem. party base.
