Newt's plea to Republicans

This article says it all about the state of the Republican party's chances in November.

My favorite quote:

<blockquote>

The Republican brand has been so badly damaged that if Republicans try to run an anti-Obama, anti- Reverend Wright, or (if Senator Clinton wins), anti-Clinton campaign, they are simply going to fail.

This model has already been tested with disastrous results.

In 2006, there were six incumbent Republican Senators who had plenty of money, the advantage of incumbency, and traditionally successful consultants.

But the voters in all six states had adopted a simple position: "Not you." No matter what the GOP Senators attacked their opponents with, the voters shrugged off the attacks and returned to, "Not you."

The danger for House and Senate Republicans in 2008 is that the voters will say, "Not the Republicans."</blockquote>

Poor Newt - I think his pleas are going to fall on deaf ears, and McCain will be a serious liability to them this fall. Wonderful news!

OK, seriously, why are their two sets of formatting rules - one for the blogs and one for the comments? I don't understand this. I am a programmer and I am mystified by this software! :P

Anyway, sorry for the formatting errors ... at least the link works!

Ooops - why are THERE two set of formatting rules ... jeesh, my brain is a little muddled this morning LOL!

That's OK. Us programmers aren't supposed to be good at spelling. Assuming you've maintained your share of other's people's code, you know what I'm talking about…

Oh, God, yes - but I suppose anybody trying to maintain mine would feel the same way LOL!!! We are a strange breed, aren't we? ;)

Big news in that article is the GOP admitting that all the anti-Obama, anti-Wright crap has failed miserably. I hope the MSM also notes that tying Wright to Obama failed and maybe they'll finally quit talking about it!!!

If the media finally lets go of Wright, I'll bet Obama rebounds in the polls big time.
