Talkleft.com plans superdelegate intimidation
Obama is likely to do as poorly in KY as he did in W. VA. Counting MI and FL votes (not delegates), she's going to either top Obama or get really close to him in the popular vote total. (No, but ok, Fidel Clinton, by all means, let's count Michigan. Viva la Revolucion!)If you live in a state that went for Hillary, check out the superdelegates from your state that are in Congress. Write them and tell them that since Hillary won in your state and she's the most electable in November [snicker], if they do not support her, you will [be really pissed].
And, if Obama is the nominee and loses in the general, you will hold them personally responsible [OH NOES!11] because they should have known Hillary was the more electable [so hard to type while crying] and they did a disservice to Democrats everywhere by voting against the candidate that had the best chance of winning. [for reallys]
[snip] People who make bad judgments like that shouldn't be serving in Congress.
There's nothing the[y] hate more than a contested primary. It distracts them, costs money and keeps them on edge. They care about getting re-elected more than anything else. That's your leverage. In my opinion.

Well, they can just go right ahead. We've seen what intimidation did the last time they tried this. Was that last week, the week before? There was a post on HuffPo about it. All that intimidation campaign did was anger the superdels. Donna Brazile spoke on the record about it and shared her email reply to someone who threatened her with a vote for McCain. Her reply went something like this: If you want four more years of [list of Bush failures], then go right ahead and get on the McCain train, it's leaving the station.
The superdels will have none of this intimidation. In fact, it just aggravates the situation and puts Clinton in a worse light. I'll tell you what would go a lot more toward getting a superdel's attention. An email that expressed deep concern for the health and well-being of the Democratic party, concern about the rift and achieving unity. Not a laundry list of Clinton's talking points and flawed math -- and threats. That just makes them hit the Delete key.

I don't know about that ... Hillaryis44 has pretty scary shit on it. I venture over there every once in a while but I have to scour my brain with Chlorox after a few minutes. They are batshit insane!

Good point. I find talkleft.com scarier because the people use complete sentences and fewer exclamation points. It gives me that "they walk among us!" feeling.

Bit harsh on the walrus-shaped, etc, but as for the superdelegate intimidation--Bring.It.On. Keep it up, guys! You're doing GREAT!

I know. I was in a jerky mood. Every time I feel like saying something nice about Hillary or her supporters, I read something deranged like comparing Obama to Hitler and I just feel like we have been way too nice to the headcases.

Just a note on this statement:
But they are Democrats. Registered, voting Democrats. We want them all. We don't want them going to the GOP. We already know that many of these people, though they vote in the Dem primary, do indeed vote GOP in the general elections -- against their own interests. It's the basis of the book "What's the Matter With Kansas?" And it's an ongoing problem for Dems. When we talk about his coalition versus her coalition, we must remember that both are our coalition, and we must find ways to bring them together.

Half the time I feel like you. The other half of the time I feel like if all the truly hardline deranged Hillary supporters left Obama for McCain, the average IQ of both groups of supporters would rise by 20 points.
But I am working on the healing.

Well, you know, democracy and all. Go for it. Make the case. Don't see it making a difference.
I think this will all be real clear before we get to the convention. The Hillary supporters deserve their chance to get their disappointment out of their system, I suppose.
