BOYCOTT CABLE NEWS
Obama supporters might cheer when cable does creepy stuff to another democratic candidate.
Last week, they attempted to throw the last 2 primariesby announcing that Clinton would concede thatnight.
Later that morning, they "corrected" this, by sayingClinton was preparing to beg to be Obama's vice president.
This was all ignored by Obama supporters, who apparently think breaking the law, and soviet-style media propaganda is good when it benefits their candidate.
Suddenly, Chris Matthews, who swiftboated kerry in '04,is an Obama hero.
Killing off democracy for the sake of my agenda is normally considered a right wing thing.
This "news" that has pleased Obama democrats is gearing up to swiftboat Obama.
What will you do? By October, they will be poundingObama 24/7.
Will you write CNN an angry email? Threaten to drop
cable?
The time to nip this in the bud was months ago.
Time Warner and General Electric selected George Bush for us, and are selecting John McCain.
Whatever these 2 companies have their tentacles in, should not be patronized by anyone who wants to restore a healthy democracy.

It's also looking like GE controls the NYT.
The paper advertises NBC under the guise of news articles. For a while they were humping Russert's shin like a poodle in heat. Yesterday, they were promoting MSNBC's morning show.

You have to admit that at least part of the blame for Tuesday's confusions can be laid at the feet of the Clinton campaign.
You had:
* Bill saying this might be the last day he campaigns like this.
* An e-mail going out (from the Hillary campaign) to advance staffers that there were "no plans beyond Wednesday".
* McAuliffe himself saying that Hillary will call Obama the nominee when he hits the magic number (which he did on Tuesday).
You can't blame the media for all of that.
(I'm no defender of the media—I've never had cable in my life—but I do want to be fair when I bash them.)

"Petey," is that you? In any case I'm glad to see that GE conspiracy theories are extending their tentacles into more places on the net. Soon, GE-conspiracy-theorists will control the world.

I couldn't care less what the media may have done to Clinton in the last few weeks. She should have run a non-campaign instead of trying to equate the Party with Robert Mugabe and the KKK.
I feel pretty bitter about it because, in keeping the focus on the democratic primary, John McCain kept getting away with the most ludicrous gaffes and the general public doesn't have the first idea about them.

Yo what laws were broken?
I'm a news junkie so I pretty much watch and read it all except FOX. I also take anything I hear or read with a large dose of salt.
I never once heard anybody say last week say Clinton should concede before the last two primaries. I also never heard or read anywhere, except from a few bloggers that Clinton was "begging" for the VP spot. Now if you can provide me with a link to some bobble head saying any of the above I will stand corrected and admit I was wrong.
Here's what I have heard. I heard a lot of pundits asking if she was angling for the VP slot, but not begging. I heard a lot of pundits asking why she was still in it, but not once did I hear anyone ever say she should drop. There's a big difference ,at least to me.
Finally were a lot of pundits surprised at her speech on Tuesday and say so. Yup and so were a lot of other people who watched it. Myself included.

If you compare how well Obama plays on TV compared to how poorly McCain plays on TV, I think Obama will be a lot better for media business. His electric popularity with a favored advertising demographic, ages 18 to 39, will also tempt media types to go a little softer on him. There will be the usual ranting right wingnuts, but I'm hopeful that Obama will have the media edge.
This is just one more benefit of having, at long last, a charismatic politician to carry the cause of progressive politics.
