Hillary Is Still Running For President

Regardless of what happened last night, regardless of how many delegates or super-delegates Obama has won, here is the Fact on the Ground: until she concedes the nomination to Obama--or until Obama is actually nominated at the convention in August--Hillary Clinton is still pursuing the Democratic nomination. All the talk of the vice presidency is premature. She wants to be President.

She is still running. No one should assume anything but this. Don't assume that she'll bow out gracefully, don't assume that she does or doesn't want the vice presidency, don't assume that she'll campaign or even vote for Obama or anyone else. Don't assume that she'll do anything but try to secure the nomination for herself.

With this in mind, I'd like to know how she plans to do this.

Well her plan, to the extent she still believes in it, would be to wear down superdelegates with her electability arguments throughout the summer, and get them to switch their votes at convention time.

That is why I believe it would be very wise for as many formerly Clinton-backing superdelegates as possible, who care about wrapping this race up, to Clinton thinks she only has to change the minds of 100 or so superdelegates, then she may keep fighting. But if it turns out she has to change the minds of 300 or 400, she will realize that is too big a mountain to climb.

(I) Hillary Clinton, your future president, hereby concede to the will of 349 trillion voters, who have raised their voices, to tell us they do not want me to be the Democratic nominee, and instead to become president today.

Much Love,
Hillary MMV(I)(I)(I)

Your point is well taken. Given everything we know about her competitiveness, for us to think that she wants the VP spot is naive. The VP thing is a red herring. But what does it buy her?

I don't think she's still running. I think she still wants to run. But I think what she's trying to do now is slip out of the race unnoticed. I think she just can't bring herself to say the words.

Her campaign is deep in debt and needs to continue to attract as many donors as possible.

Seriously guys, look beyond the superficial and try to find the root cause of things. It comes down to money.

The post this morning that no one knows what the Clintons will do except the Clintons, is right on. Today, I'm wondering where the Congressional super-delegates are. Where is Nancy Pelosi? Where is Dianne Feinstein? Where is Harry Reid?

Why is she not conceding? Why are the remaining supers not supporting Obama? These questions make me think she's still running, and so do some other influential people.

WHEN WILL OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE REALLY BE OVER????

She'll need to make her case to the voters in the next primary and hope that.....oh, wait.....

"She wants to be President..... With this in mind, I'd like to know how she plans to do this."

I figure she'll incite her supporters to assassinate the pesky Negro. Then she can step into her rightful place, ready on Day One to push the button and get rid of millions more pesky inferiors.
