LA Times Journalist Exposed in Deception
Obama news writers are putting their credibility, andjournalistic standards on the line for the sake of helping out Obama.
They feel no responsibility to their viewers. Deceiving them is just fine.
One example, is sadly, LA Times writer, Andrew Malcom, whose credibility and integrity are now in floating the toilet bowl of the Times men's room.
He posts a birth certificate up, as the final word to people who wonder why Obama will not reveal his birth certificate.
Funny thing about the birth certificate he posted. That font wasn't around in '61. Another peculiarity, no signature, and no certification stamp. The paper looks crisp and fresh out of the Staples shrink wrap.
It was the same junk floating around DailyKrud a few days ago.
Good work, Andrew! A credit to your newspaper.
Oh yeah. The link:http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/06/obama-birth.html?cid=118985510#comments

Tomorrow we'll see that "birth certificate" on the front page of the NYT. The front page has been converted into an ad for Obama.

Umm, Obama posted his birth certificate on his anti-smear site last week.

That is not a birth certificate.
There is no signature.
There is no certification of authenticity.

Begone wight. Apparently Obama's anti-smear website was a great idea.

This is one of the most pathetic attempts at a gotcha which has appears this entire campaign.
I obtained a certified birth certificate last year that was printed on a computer, presumably shortly before it was mailed. The computer font used was not around in 1949.
Really, really stupid.
The certification appears to be on the backside. If you look at the certificate posted at the LA Times site toward the bottom you can see light blue, backwards printing that appears to be a date. The backward 2007 is quite visible.

An obvious attempt to Rathergate Obama's birt certficate. Bot come on... one of a kind military records, yes, have to be originals. Birth certs get scanned and reprinted all the time.

Just FYI: I find adding a layer of genuine tin foil to your aluminum foil hat improves its resistance to the secret encoded messages the space aliens have infiltrated into the network broadcast signals by up to 50%. It does take a while to collect it, as you have to peel it off of gum and candy wrappers, but its totally worth it.

anything of substance to add?

The birth certificate "uses a font not in use in 1961" (a debatable, but irrelevant, point) because it was printed recently by the State of Hawaii. See, how it works in this new-fangled space age is that you request a birth certificate from the bureau of vital statistics of your state of birth, they look you up on their computer system and then, when they find your record, they hit "print" and, presto, a laser printer prints a brand new birth certificate which they send to you.
I have one just like it from my own home state in my desk drawer. It too uses a sans serif font that was uncommon back in the type-writer age when I was born. It's still an official birth certificate. That is, its an official document from the state of my birth in which the state certifies that I was, in fact born there, on the date and to the parents stated therein.
All of which is a long way of saying the people obsessing over fonts and such are crazier than Captain Queeg.

Have you ordered your birth certificate lately? You don't get a copy of the original.
Your attempt to create a scandal out of this will work with...ummm...nobody? No one is dumb enough not to figure this one out.

Except Lute, that is.

You are mistaken. There are many who could not figure this out. That is why the Obama campaign has put up the anti smeer site. These lies are not going to die bu themselves. We will have to stake them through the heart.

Also, there are many that will *choose* to believe. They want to believe that Obama is holding the phone upside down, that a fist bump is a terrorist signal and that Michele said, Whitey. Lies that support their belief system are very hard to combat.

So why won't he provide his birth certificate?
That would quickly satisfy inquiring minds.
June 16, 2008 1:25 PM | Reply | Permalink
WTF? It's posted on the internet, and he has provided it?
Get over it. You're wrong, and you made the mistake of believing some anonymous poster to a blog.

I'm afraid you're right. Lute could have done a Yahoo search just as readily as I did and found the St. Pertersburg Times fact check.

Good grief. The copy of my birth certificate I got recently so I could get off a TSA list was not a photocopy of my 1948 birth certificate. It was printed several days after I requested it, using a laser printer in a current font. Talk about not understanding getting a copy of your birth certificate works and then making stuff up.

Stand up and say it out loud. You are accusing the Democratic Nominee for President of the United States of FORGERY! Obama post this on his own website so you are accusing him of faking this document some how!
Proof? None as all what so ever.
Don't pretend you are beating up on some LA Times reporter, you are calling Obama a criminal so have some guts and just say it you weak ass idiot!

Please go back to LA times site. Click on the image to enlarge. Look in lower left hand corner of document. You'll notice the words Laser- as in laser copy. Also up right hand side certificate # has been blacked out for privacy reasons. Also if you look closely to the right of Date Filed you will see the faint imprint of a time date stamp.
Finally not sure when this hit the LA Times, but since it's been out since last week I find it oddly curious you are the only one questioning it.

Horrible weak as hell post! You obviously know nothing about how state records like this are managed, maintained and delivered.
So the only copy of Obama's birth certificate that would satisfy you that he is not a secret Muslim named "Barry" would be the original copy? Guess what international law doesn't even require anything more than what Obama posted on his site.

That isn't a birth certificate. There is not signature, and no certification to its authenticity.

I understand that McCain (born outside the US, In Panama) also forged his birth certificate.
A quick fact check reveals that when McCain was born, neither paper, or ink were invented.
If valid, it would consist of a chiseled stone tablet.

"Have you ordered your birth certificate lately? You don't get a copy of the original."
One can if one goes into the vital statistics archives, looks up the original on file, and then xerox gets copy of that.
But so much time is wasted over so little that you just know it's an overweight right-wing pro-war illiterate keyboard kommando behind it.
