Dancing with the Universe

I apologize in advance if this subject is out of place here. Although I've lurked on TPM for many years, I'm posting something a bit off the beaten path as my first blog entry.

If you haven't seen it already, make sure the volume is turned up on your speakers and enjoy. It's a real heart opener. With definite political overtones, plus obvious spiritual undertones (or visa versa).

This crazy guy has done a couple of these already. It began as a lark. During his travels, he would film himself doing this ridiculous, arrhythmic dance -- as a silly, personal memento of where he had been. When he got home, he edited the clips together and posted it to youtube, and oddly enough it made a splash. This video is from his third trip. In my opinion, by far his best work (if something this fun can be called work) so far.

The person who brought it to my awareness made the snarky/cynical comment that it will probably be used to sell chewing gum one day. Truth being forever stranger than fiction, turns out this third trip was in fact sponsored by a chewing gum manufacturer. Donchya just love the irony? Or perhaps the way irony -- and parody and mockery and absurdity -- have been rendered irrelevant by modernity?

Alas, whomever paid the bill {sigh}, the result is beautiful. Somehow, this silly lark has evolved into an art form of sorts. I find it inspiring. Inexplicably perhaps. (Inexplicably inspiring -- try saying that three times fast.)

Anyway, hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Nice. Thanks.

I had no great expectations, and was in fact a bit skeptical when I clicked on the link, but I found that the video made me smile and lifted my spirits. It's really wonderful, and I will be passing it along! Thanks to you, Hassan, for being the messenger and facilitating a very positive start for my day and the work week!

Love the "Spuds MacKenzie as Anubis" avatar. Welcome to active participation in TPM.

Thanks, Tankard. Look forward to participating more openly.

Also glad a few had their spirits lifted this morning. It may not be the kind of thing that everyone groks, as it's not intellectual in the least, but the best things in life (in my opinion) are not of the mind or the ego. It's from the heart that we connect deeply with each other and even with ourselves.

Wow! That is so cool. Brought back some memories.

Thanks for sharing this.
