FIRST GAFFE of OBAMA TRIP...
...GOES to MCCAIN
"As Barack Obama began his trip to the Middle East and Europe, the media was already speculating about the possibility of a gaffe. Obama's travel "carries political risk," the New York Times reported, "particularly if Mr. Obama makes a mistake."
But the only foreign policy error made in the last few days came this morning on ABC's Good Morning America, when John McCain made ANOTHER geography gaffe while trying to criticize Obama's visit to Iraq.
Asked by Diane Sawyer whether the "the situation in Afghanistan in precarious and urgent," McCain responded: "I think it's serious. . . . It's a serious situation, but there's a lot of things we need to do. We have a lot of work to do and I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border."

Sometimes I get the impression that McCain really doesn't want to be president. No presidential candidate has shot himself in the foot more than McCain has.

Actually, it is McCain's second gaffe. He announced when Obama would be in Iraq, even though that information was supposed to be a secret. You'd think that a military man would know better than to give away such information!

It's a pattern by the Republicans. Valerie Plame, was no fluke, it's a pattern of betrayal to achieve their goals.
National Security is a term they use to define their control of the National government, and the Security of maintaining control is a security issue covered by Executive privelege. Any information, that should degrade their ability to control, is a security breach.

I'm truly hoping to see McCain's (in)famous temper in action! Ohh, it's gonna be juicy!

It wasn't actually a gaffe, just an oversimplification in Sen. McCain's mind. The border between Pakistan and Iraq is a little country called "Iran", and McCain seems to think we've got some work to do there.

Oh, McCain, what a funny guy! Making a little joke about the position of the countries in the world!

Oh McGoo there you go again...
This would be adorable if it wasn't so dangerous. Next thing he's going to propose is a border fence between Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan to keep the Shia Mexicans out of the green zone (or something along these lines).
WTF is the rest of the MSM on this?

I did not pick up on the gaffe right away and I suspect many people would not immediately detect it.
On the other hand, those of us who are running for President AND who have visited Iraq multiple times AND who claim foreign policy expertise as a strength should know better.

you're very correct about that one. geography isn't necessarily the average American's strongest suit.

And, the "public" perceives that McCain receives a 14 percent rating on "favorable treatment" by the press. This guy has gotten a free ride. He should be raked and raked and discredited for such ignorance. The guy has a C-/D+ intellect and he is proving daily. McCain is such an embarassment, that I actually feel sorry for him. And pity is such a shallow emotion.

I'd feel sorry for him too if he didn't flaunt his ignorance! Like GWB, they somehow believe that being an under achiever is a great attribute in a president.
Don't believe me? I've got it on video - from the Jed Report:

"Iraq/Pakistan border"
LOL. This guy is a gaffe machine: IRan-Al Qaeda links, Czechoslovakia, now this.
How long can the MSM keep up the farce of McCain being "knowledgable" about foreign policy??
Every gaffe he makes, they rush to explain it away ("he was probably tired" or whatever) and thaqt despite his apparent idiocy, he is strong" on national security.

Oh, he very much wants to be president, he just doesn't want to do the work.

Oh! Isn't it time for a gaffe? I guess the McCain's too many to be counted gaffes don't count...won't list them here, because, why bother?
Obama is blowing them out of the water with his intelligence, thoughtfulness, and historical knowledge. Why embarass McCain with Czechoslovakia? He is so over the hill!
