John McCain: Whiner-in-Chief
All we hear from John McCain of late is whining:
Okay, it's not really a quote, jsut a summary of McCain's messaging of the week. But more importantly, is this really a good strategy to win an election: be seen as a big, petulant crybaby who does nothing but complain??
Voters generally want leadership, not grievances and gripes. A winner not a whiner. While Obama looks presidential touring the world without McCain-type gaffes ("Iran & Al Qaeda", "Iraq-Pakistani border", "Czechoslovakia"), McCain sits at home and stews, and sends out his army of embittered surrogates to WHINE WHINE WHINE.
The great irony here is that a couple weeks ago, we had a member of John McCain's campain calling America a "nation of whiners" (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/203928.php)
The real whiner is John McCain -- fragile, petulant, jealous little John Sidney McCain III.
The press gives too much coverage of Obama's trip, the press is biased, the NY Times won't publish my hastily written drafts!!! This Obama is a rock star -- it's sooooo unfair!!!!! What about me and my Columbia trip???!!!

I think what you're describing in McCain is projection:
"In psychology, psychological projection (or projection bias) is a defense mechanism in which one attributes one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts or/and emotions to others. Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted subconscious impulses/desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them. The theory was developed by Sigmund Freud and further refined by his daughter Anna Freud, and for this reason, it is sometimes referred to as "Freudian Projection" -- Wikipedia
