Priceless Obama quote
Was there anything that you saw on this trip that changed your mind? John McCain, as you know, is saying, "Well, he already knew what he was going to think before he got there."
Well, I thought John also suggested that I'm always changing my mind, so he's got to make up his mind about what he says about my mind.

Hahahahaha! God that sounds like something I'd say and it would get me dropped from a campaign.
I love this man.

Bang-on.
I am genuinely looking forward to the debates, when Obama will say a few things like this, and we all watch in horrified fascination as McCain's face reddens, his jaw tightens, and he begins spewing the insults and expletives he's well known for.
His own personal Three Mile Island, if you will.

It's stuff like this (and Obama's well-timed ripostes throughout the primary) that makes me not worry about the Obama campaign going more negative. McCain is his own worst enemy.
As Bat Guano says, this is Barackarate at its best.
Step 1 - Point out the GOP contradictions, conflations and straight-out lies with wit and humor.
Step 2 - Watch McCaintBeBotheredWithFacts get dropped like third period French.
Step 3 - Repeat until general election.

Poor McCain. It must really suck to be the dumb guy running against a really smart guy. :)

Now, now, McCain isn't a complete idiot. He is, after all, well-informed on a number of issues.
Contraceptives, for example! ...Oh wait.
Ok, so then the issue of insurance companies providing Viagra but not birth control! ...Shit, sorry.
The economy, right?! ...Dammit, hold on.
He knows computers pretty well! ...I mean, just learning how to use one isn't that bad for someone his age!
Sunnis and Shiites, probably. ...Ugh, I'll find something.
The President of Germany! ...It IS Putin, right?
Eastern Europe! ...Czechoslovakia is still a nickname for the Czech Republic, I think.
The Anbar Awakening, gotta be. ...It was a result of the surge, correct?
Wait, Vietnam. He was a POW, so he must know about that. ...I mean, we could've won. I'm sure we could've!
...I'm running out of things off the top of my head. I think I'm gonna have to go research a little bit. He's gotta be an expert, or at least intelligent, on one thing or another.

I wonder what this guy's batting average is at this point? Does he even have a Campaign Manager?

This is something I had always thought would be an Ideal tactic against McCain (and the GOP generally), to have on hand a few Zingers that are thoughtfully funny and gets the Audience (US) just in stitches over the absurdity of McCain's stances and the GOP Program... (ie: just how much "less government" are you proposing?)
Methinx the planned vacation for Obama ought to be in MN where he and Al Franken could work out a few riffs (not that Obama lacks for some good ones on his own) just to be ready at debate time...
Um Senator, I knew John McCain, John McCain was a friend of mine, and you are NO John McCain.... ;)

Of the 3 of them (Obama, Franken, and McCain), I think McCain is probably the best for coming up with material that makes fun of McCain. Not intentionally, mind you, but still.

That was AWESOME!

McCain should have vetoed that beer that came across his desk.

McCain really is as dumb as he looks. Too bad his intellect fits right in with our brainless, spineless MSM. He's on their level. They get his jokes.
July 26, 2008 7:16 PM | Reply | Permalink
Well, the MSM is the old guard, wringing their hands about the Internets and bloggers and Google News and Internet prefators. Not to mention the switch over to HDTV, which will lose all the old folk who still use rabbit ears.

So glad I saw this before this post spins off. So damn clever, that Obama fellow. Just stunning.

Best laugh of the day. I sure hope he does not become president. O, the dumb, it burns!

Yay Obama! I love the way he has of introducing logic into the picture and throwing everybody off.
July 26, 2008 8:01 PM | Reply | Permalink
Yeah, logic. Imagine that from a President. Oh, our expectations are too low!!

McCain is old, but there is nothing wrong with that; however, do you remember when your grandparents were just learning to use the computer? Like ten years ago!

McCain is old and not terribly sharp.
But since when have the GOP considered those things barriers to successfully "electing" presidents?
Even as we speak no doubt, cold, malign intellects on the GOP side are considering how to nullify Obama's manifest advantages...
There are armies of oppo researchers looking into every detail of his past. There are people at courthouses, newspaper archives, schools, etc. researching.
There are traps being laid, verbal, financial, and so forth.
There are whole agencies devoted to screening negative ads with test audiences.
527's are gearing up.
It will be a storm of smearing and innuendo and vilification. These gaffe's on McCain's part are being ignored by the media anyway, since they want a tight race.
We just can't afford to celebrate yet.

After 8 years of George 'never ever told a lie or made a mistake' Dubya, it says a lot about the GOP that the best they could come up with as a follow on is this pudding head McCain.
Republicans have to be the ultimate cave dwelling cretins on the planet.

Ha! I love it. I'm gonna use it, but I'm gonna change it to "Puddin' Head."
