What a lot of us have been waiting for
I was so glad to see this:
One last point I want to -- I do want to make about these e-mails, though. And I think this has an impact on this "New Yorker" cover.
You know, this is actually an insult against Muslim-Americans, something that we don't spend a lot of time talking about. And sometimes I've been derelict in pointing that out.
You know, there are wonderful Muslim-Americans all across the country who are doing wonderful things. And for this to be used as sort of an insult, or to raise suspicions about me, I think is unfortunate. And it's not what America's all about.

Thanks Chase. This is excellent. I don't have cable and didn't see the interview, but if this excerpt is representative of the tone throughout, it will do much to inform viewers as to how Senator Obama approaches difficult issues.

You know - thanks a lot for posting this because I had not seen that statement. I see tons of things that are interpreted negatively about Obama and where he is on things right now and what he's been saying - and a lot of the positive is totally ignored, even by liberals.
I really appreciate this post.

You are wrong. This is exactly what America is about. There is always a bad guy threatening to change the the American way of life.
This has been effective in politics since the beginning. It's just that now you are the focus of all their ire.

I agree. When I heard him say it, I was relieved and proud of him for making that clear.

For me, the most important quote:
"And I think the American people are probably spending a little more time worrying about what's happening with the banking system and the housing market, and what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, than a cartoon."
Actually, Obama's wrong on that one. It was a cartoon, folks. Whether you like it or not, can we please get over it? Why don't we talk about the article inside? Or is that too complicated?
