What Would Jesus Copyright?
Sam Stein at The Huffington Post wrote a story about how all of John "Hitler was an agent of God" Hagee's videos have been removed from Youtube, just days before a summit where Holy Joe Lieberman himself will be attending.
Go figure.
But i found this quote particularly interesting:
Doesn't this run contrary to every thing Christianity, as a religion, is about? Aren't you as a christian, supposed to spread the word of god to us heathens and savages who've yet to accept Jesus Christ as our savior?
In the end, if John Hagee wants to control the content he created, its his right to do it. But if he's interested in prosthelaytysing (spellcheck, anyone?) what better place than Youtube? Hundreds of millions of people go there every day. Seems like if you want to get your message out and save as many souls as possible, then the Youtube would be the place to do it.
Of course, that's the downside for John Hagee. He'd only be getting his message out, he wouldn't be profitting from it.
Go figure.

"Anything that showed John Hagee giving a sermon - because he films and markets those as well - were taken down because they were considered copyright infringements."

When you say "Christian" do you mean Eastern Orthodox Catholic, Roman Catholic, Nestorian, Gnostic Christian, Coptic, Lutheran, Anglican, Episcopalian, Calvinist, Reformed, Anabaptist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Adventist, Holiness, Pentecostal, Eastern Orthodox, Miaphysite, Syriac, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormon, Unitarian, Quaker, Shaker, Mennonite, Amish, Charismatic, Christian Science, Foursquare or Nazarene?
Saying "you Christians" is a lot like saying "you Democrats". It's the tool of a propagandist, not a rational, thinking person.
I think you'll find that most Christians have never even heard of Dr. Hagee and the majority of those who have do not find him or his ilk representative.
And before you ask, no I am not "Christian". I am Deist, as were many of the framers of the country.

yeah, because a "sane, rational person" believes in an invisible man in the sky.
But I think Carlin said it so well...

Yeah, kind of like any "sane, rational person" would regard people who ridicule other peoples' beliefs as "progressive."
Selecting John Hagee as representative of "christians" is about as "sane and rational" as selecting Stalin as representative of atheists. I'm sure you would agree that Stalin, Mao Tse-Dong and Pol Pot are representative of the apotheosis of atheism ... wouldn't you? Yep, inside every atheist is a mass murderer yearning to be free of the shackles of commonplace morality.
Thanks.
