Edwards is bat crap crazy.
Well, it official... Psychology Today says John Edwards is nutty.
I never liked John Edwards as a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate (and I liked Bonesman Kerry even less) - I always got the feeling that Edwards was just too slick to be so aww-shucks honest as he tried to portray himself. I'll take this whole turn of events as evidence that my intuition as it relates to political personages is in far better condition than most Democrats.
Or, does that make me the narcissist?
Be that as it may, cheating on your spouse is bad. Cheating on your wife as she comes out of cancer treatment is despicable. Same goes for John McCain leaving his first wife after she lost her swimsuit modeling career to a car accident. So, don't get too excited my Republican friends.... entertaining your Schadenfreude too much has a way of coming back to haunt you.

In a perfect world, Edwards' failings would lead to the McCain discussion.
Hopefully the National Enquirer will find Vicki Iseman.

yes, i personally dont think it is any of my business what edwards did to his wife..she forgave him, but since the cat is out of the bag and edwards is no longer a candidate for prez, can we draw a parallel bw his trangressions and the cheater who is running for the highest office of the land, Mccain? edwards is no longer significant and if we are truly being sincere and feigning outrage, we should take a moment to realize that we are hurting edwards' family the most by pretending to be high and mighty, judge/juror...
give them peace and privacy and refocus this convo on Mccain....yes, we can!

I don't care what he did to his wife or what she did back;
I do care HE lied and she let him LIE to the American people.

Better not to take seriously too much of what any American medical journal has to say about political candidates or even health. Edwards is a threat to the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and American medical journals are so influenced by these interests that they are no longer trustworthy.
Also, stats say that Edwards is hardly alone in having an affair. I've seen stats showing that from 25-65 percent of married American men have affairs. That doesn't make affairs wise or noble, but it suggests a fairly common human weakness more than it does "bat crap" craziness.

Frankly, we're the only country in the world that even considers this a negative. Almost anyplace else, they'd look at a guy of Edwards' wealth and stature and figure there was something wrong with him if he didn't take advantage of that to bed other women.
But I guess that's what makes us the Greatest Country in the History of the World.

Scoff if you will, but hiring your mistress to shoot vanity promos for your campaign and impregnating her as your wife recovers from cancer isn't considered a virtue in any society, hypocritically Christian or otherwise.

This sounds like partisan cognitive dissonance to me. I'm willing to bet this commentor also voted for the Bushes' secret society brother, Kerry, in the 2004 scam. It's willful ignorance of such facts and an active suppression of intuition that both parties' elites count on to manufacture consent.
The "crazy" is in Edwards' extreme narcissism, not his infidelity.
A threat to the insurance and medical establishments? Please. There's a fine line between true populism and blatant demagoguery. Edwards' narcissism and recklessness, as demonstrated by his run for Presidency KNOWING the issue would likely become tabloid headlines, are good indicators of which side of that line he inhabits. So too are his votes for the PATRIOT Act and the Iraq War.
