Effective Surrogates Needed
The Obama camps needs effective surrogates and lots of them. I do not think that the current surrogates are doing an effective job. They seem to spend more of their time complaining about Obama's methods and talking up McCain's talking points than doing what is expected of them.
I listen to Schumer, Rendel and the likes harping that Obama should hit back and hit hard, well why don't they hit back hard while they have the airwaves? Why do they occupy themselves with grumbling over what Obama should do? Why are they not hitting back hard?
They seem to think that Obama is solely responsible for winning this race but thats not the case. The average joe like you and I will probably never get to be on air but they do everyday. Would it not be wise to counter McCain's talking points whenever they see a mic rather than complain about Obama? I think so.
Then there are the so called left wing bloggers like TPM. Here is a group of Obama people with millions of readers but they too are so slight and whimpy when talking up Obama's talking points but they boldly report McCain's crap.
What's with us democrats? Why are we so timid and why do we hate to win an election? Why do we derive so much pleasure in snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory? The GOP has no problems whatsoever getting their surrogates to crush the living life out of Obama and they do it everytime someone hands them a mic. They do not cower and run timid in defending their man even though they know he is nothing but fluff.. just smoke.
I guess we in the dems do it differently. We like to lose and so we setup ourselves really well for it. Look peoples... Obama needs effective surrogates in bloggers like TPM, CrooksandLiars, Andrew Sullivan and the rest of believers.
Obama needs every elected member of congress and the senate to go on the offensive and crush McCain at every talking point.
Our surrogates need to let the people know that the McCain tenure will be worse than Bush and not simply the same as Bush. We need to take this man down and NOW.

Couldn't agree more!
So many want to put it all on his shoulders, instead of assuming their responsibility. He has always made it clear, he cannot do it alone, without us and them!
Too many of his 'supporters' are quick to nit pick and critique him but very slow to loudly and long take their role of surrogacy to the airwaves and print media with the truths about McCain and Repubs.
Surrogates - Tear them down, build Barack up or else get off the stage.

I agree with the sentiment that we should all use our steam to take McCain down and fight back when his camp throws their ignorance bombs at the public from the least of us to those with the most visibility and power. Each one has power and the more we regular people do it... the more those with bigger audiences and power will do it. This is about change from the bottom up after all.
When it comes to the surrogates you mention what I want to know is, are they NOT doing it because they don't want to get reprimanded publicly, don't want to take the risk with their constituents, or they just don't know what to say or how to throw a punch??? and they like many of us want 'somebody' to do it. Where are you somebody????? (should we all look in the mirror?)

Rendell and Schumer have not fully transitioned to the roles of supporting the nominees as opposed to their original candidate.

My Congressman Artur Davis is about the best surrogate their is, but that being said he was also one of the first members to endorse Obama and they were Harvard classmates.
