« Ten Dollars for Ten Houses | freaktown's Blog | Bill Clinton Can't Help Himself »

First AP, Now Reuters...

So i was reading this story on how John McCain is using his POW status as an excuse as to why he doesn't know how many houses he owns.

What I found interesting was the paragraph at the end.
Obama's house in the affluent Chicago neighborhood of Hyde Park is worth more than $1.5 million, and he has made millions from the publication of two autobiographical books.

What's so strange about that? Well. I read the story three times just to make sure I didn't miss it, but .that came out of nowhere. There is no mention of the worth of the McCains' homes, or the fact that his wife spends $250,000 a month on credit cards (hey, gas isn't cheap for private jets these days).

If they had disclosed McCain's worth, then I'd say it would be fair to mention Obama's assets.

But that's not what happened.

All it says-ALL it says, is that his wife is "a wealthy heiress to a beer distributorship."

So if we're using the same rules, all they should have said about Obama is that he "made a some money from his two bestselling books."

I agree. Rather than serve as an attempt to give readers access to comparable information for each candidate, this becomes an apology for McCain.

Freak,
You're $500,000 off on the monthly credit card spending and left out the $50k a month by one of the kids.

Seriously, how can ANYONE begin to think that McCains can understand the middle class.

I agree but would like to add that, by anyone's definition of "heiress", Cindy was more well endowed, so to speak...
