Grandpa MCain and the prison of the mind.
I have sat amazed at the number of lies, misdeeds, and general malfeasance that Grandpa McCain can get away with by restating the fact that he was once a POW in a war to keep Vietnam “French.” Even more mystifying is that his supporters seem to go along with this excuse rather blindly. It almost works but not quite. Try this at home see if it sounds as stupid to you as it does to me.
Repeat after me (it helps if you shout it out):
He didn't have to keep his vows to his first wife, he was a POW!
He didn't have to look past his first wife's injuries, he was a POW!
He did not have to be a father to his first children, he was a POW!
He did not have to follow the law and not bilk investors, he was a POW!
He did not have to avoid a ton of shady real estate deals, he was a POW!
He did not have to avoid lobbyists and all their money, he was a POW!
He did not have to avoid cheating on his second wife, he was a POW!
He did not have to remember how many houses he owns, he was a POW!
He did not have to avoid playing the race card, he was a POW!
He can’t lose this election, he was a POW!
Now, calm down and breathe. There are probably others but if this still does not seem like a silly defense, for a human being of very poor character, try replacing POW with BLACK. The truth hurts but without pain there is little gain.
Feel free to disagree…

You know Ducky, in truth, he is still a prisoner of war.
The war between two great factions in this country and he is imprisoned by the conceptual and ideological positions of one of those factions and in the extreme form that faction has come to embrace.
So he was released from the Hanoi Hilton but fell into the clutches of another group equally hostile to the freedoms of the people.
Power, prestige, even the Presidency perhaps, but a prison for his conscience and his character that the hour is growing late for him to extricate himself from.

Lux Umbra Dei.. You got a lot a nerve showing your dark spot around this pond. I read that bit of fluff you posted about the McCain commencement speech and the mercy you showed this monster disgusted me to the core. How
could you? You was like family!!! The pond I set in now is filled with the tears from your betrayal.

Dang it, Z, the quality of mercy is not strained, etc. etc.
And besides, that's not a pond you're floating in: it looks like the Washington coastline maybe Olympic National Park, all foggy and I always saw offshore sea stacks in that picture. I really did!!
Now its me thats disillusioned!!
But I dig you anyway, so I'll just live with it.

I never said it was small pond, did I? I am a thirty foot tall rubber duck and I need a very big pond! Okay, maybe it's more of a bay but that isn't the point. The point is it's full of betrayal tears! A whole lot of them! In any case the whole point seems lost now, so all might as well be forgiven.

That's the spirit! I'm relieved.
I would repost my psycho-rant against the republicans if I could find it! I think it was on one of Raiders threads!
That'll dry up them tears!
