Is Palin a Republican DIRTY SCHEME??
I posted this on a thread, but does anyone think that this Palin selection is maybe... just maybe all a scheme?
McCain has been on a warpath to capture Hillary voters. He also needed to blunt the coverage of Obama's incredible campaign. He also needed to make some kind of pick by today like he said he would.
His campaign wants McCain to look like he is supportive of woman's rights - but what if... what if this isn't actually real and it's just a plot?
I can ABSOLUTELY see her announcing sometime soon that she will suddenly have to "drop out" of the race after she realizes that the responsibilities of being a mother to a down-syndrome child would not allow her to give her 100% efforts to the Vice Presidency.
Then she'll discuss her current legal nepotism issues and say she doesn't want to be a distraction for McCain's patriotic campaign.
I can see it now: "As much as I would love to serve my country, and am honored to have been asked, I have come to the realization that now is not that time for me with my child and issues in Alaska I cannot leave them with. I applaud McCain for his support of women, and wish him best of luck in the campaign."
Then McCain gets to totally steal the thunder from Obama after his speech, look like some woman-lover to appeal to Hillary voters, and pick who he actually wanted all along: Romney.

I think there is little doubt that if the McCain camp wanted to suck all the air out of the Obama bounce, the Palin selection would be way more affective than announcing any of the white bread alternatives. And it will indeed capture the news cycle and the Sunday shows, but not much else.
I am loathe to believe that these guys can play chess that many moves in advance. I doubt there's anything more complicated going on here than "what's the most dramatic thing we can do to burst Obama's convention bubble".
The plan is more probably to suppress Obama's bounce (and the media chatter about it) until the Republican convention when they'll be hoping to ride their own bounce.

How can McCain prove he supports women's rights by picking Palin? SHE doesn't support women's rights!
I don't buy your argument, it still questions McCain's judgement for picking her in the first place. The investigation she is under in Alaska should have told McCain to turn away--she fired someone because he wouldn't fire her brother-in-law that was going through a shitty divorce with her sister. Yuck! Where's the National Enquirer when you need them.
