John McCain places Lieberman on VP Shortlist

If any Republicans are reading this, please let McCain know that this is a really scary choice for us.

Millions of Democrats harbor a deep love for Joe Lieberman, and they would probably defect from our party for the sheer joy of Joementum.

We would certainly lose Connecticut, and I don't see how our electoral strategy could survive the loss.

I'm was afraid they'd choose Fred Thompson, but now this is even scarier.

The only way this happens is if nobody else wants the job. Would any up and comers want to be tied to McCain/Bush 3rd Term, the negative attacks that will probably only go lower and lower, down in most polls by 4-5 points, recognizing the political climate and on the wrong side of (hopefully) a change election?

Romney will accept because he's old enough to realize his time is now, and should McCain lose Mitt's political career is probably over.

Lieberman is in much the same boat as Mitt, but unlike Mitt, McCain and Lieberman are good friends. Like Mitt, Lieberman's political career is likely over after he serves out his current Senate tenure.

Both these men will gladly play the attack dog, and with nothing to lose will be willing to go down in the gutter with McCain attacks.

I still think it will be Mitt, because he probably puts McCain ahead in Michigan and pulls the Mountain west towards McCain as well.

If Lieberman is the choice it's because McCain wants to go down with a friend rather than somebody he dislikes. I don't think the centrist bi-partisan push would work because Lieberman is detested by a lot of Dems, both Obama Dems and Clinton Dems(Gore chose his as a running mate after all because he was highly critical of Bill and Gore wanted to show he wasn't going to run as Clinton's 3rd term) and the GOP base recognize him as a Dem opportunist.

Dear Republicans,

We deeply fear that John McCain will choose Joe Lieberman. We love Lieberman that much. Heck, if McCain chooses Lieberman I'm going to vote for McCain.

Kind Disregards,

Me too.
--Why, with both of them in the White House we'll have 985 years of experience sitting in those two offices!

--Also, Leiberman is so good looking; his voice is so, so, so...riveting; and I love the way he always tells McCain what he just said wrong so he can try again and his boo boo doesn't get any play in the press!

--Go Lieberman! (Please!)

Well, I am going to stand on the sidewalk while the bandwagon rolls by.

That's because Lieberman might actually be a good choice for McCain.

He projects reasonability and even sagacity, while very adroitly hiding mendacity and deviousness.

He projects compromise and bi-partisanship, even while masterfully undercutting real attempts at the same time.

He projects intelligence and wisdom, while in typical neo-con fashion failing to think past the fourth move.

Don't underestimate the snake.

That might have worked if Lieberman hadn't been a complete and total surrogate for McCain since the get-go. The problem is, despite his affiliation, people look at Lieberman as an R in everything but designation. Social Conservatives will slam McCain, and honestly, I don't know what state he helps win, since Obama is more popular among Jewish Americans compared to Lieberman.

Yes please choose Joe, then McCain can have jomentum to drive to Novemeber. And besides we all know just how much all the evangelical repubs love Joe.
