Tonight's DNC Highlight

For me I clapped when Caroline Kennedy slapped down Wolf Blitzer for asking her to 'run through' the confidential VP vetting process and whether Hilary was vetted.  He's such a Clinton shill and is intent on keeping alive the whole Hilary/Obama rift meme.  That's his only goal.  Caroline recognized it and stood up to him and told him in so many words to GFY.

And then when Nicolle (?) from the McCain side told him that they were convinced that he 'sleeps upside down somewhere' it was almost too good to be true.

Finally Blitzer got bitch slapped in public, not once, but twice, and once from each party.  It was a beautiful thing!

What was your highlight?

Didn't you know that you're not allowed to say anything negative about the Clintons anymore? New TPM policy. Pass it around.

I only was able to see Michelle's speech. I will view Ted Kennedy online in a little while. I am just thrilled with Michelle's speech. It was warm and passionate and down to earth. She can stump with the very best of them.

But I have a rant I must get out. I started watching on msnbc. About 3/4 of the way through her speech they started a text feed along the bottom of the screen to tell all viewers that Cindy McCain will be going to Georgia to "assess civilian casualties". WTF was that? Is that not the most ridiculous thing? I was so pissed off I haven't turned back to them, watched the rest on CNN and regular NBC with no such nonsense. What do you suppose they will do during Hillary's speech? Tell us that Cindy is having tea? And what about next week when Cindy speaks, will there be a breathless text feed to let us all know that Michelle is putting her kids to bed?

I sure hope somebody puts up a video of that!!

Oh, Caroline was soooo in charge in that moment (as, I suspect, she is most of the time). Saw another interview with her in which she also refused to crack open the door to the selection process but talked even more meaningfully about watching Obama actually address a problem and how he went about making a decision -- you could tell she was genuinely impressed. -- I find myself so anxious for the moment when he can stop this campaigning and actually get to work on some *real* problems. (Tho I suspect he's even more anxious for that moment.) Just hope he's doing it from the White House instead of the Senate.

I have to admit that I got teary when both Teddy and Michelle spoke.

I love the songs they picked for both and thought it was classy how Ted's video was about Obama too.

But, CNN pundits just kept harping on the negatives, how the Dems had wasted the evening (for the most part) and when Larry King had all repubs on to rip apart both Ted and Michelle's messages/speeches - I got so angry!

Tomorrow I'm watching PBS!

The length, substance and sheer vigor of Ted Kennedy's appearance impressed the hell out of me.
The shakiness of his hand gestures revealed just how much effort it was taking out of him, and how important he felt it was for him to be there.
Kudos, and I hope he can fulfill his promise to be there in January when Obama is sworn in.
And I loved Blitzer's stunned reaction to the suggestion that he sleeps hanging upside down like some blood-sucking bat.
It's funny, because it's so true!

The biggest, and cutest, ham of the night, I think, was Sasha Obama.

Having watched CNN, as C-Span wasn't streaming well and couldn't go full screen, I think the most vacuous talking hairdo is Anderson Cooper who complained how bored he was; and biggest ass hat is Wolf Blitzer, who decided what he had to say was more important than was Leach's speech.

I had trouble on CSPAN, too. Much better at:
