In case you haven't noticed, the news industry loves the Republicans in general and John McCain in particular. That's because very few poor and working-class people own newspapers and cable networks, radio stations and magazines. Rich people like the GOP, because it's the party that will keep "globalizing" - as John McCain noted in his acceptance address. That means whatever jobs aren't filled by "immigrants" earning 75 cents an hour, seven days a week, will be oursourced to that vast industrial park that has spread over South Asia and the Indian Ocean area. And they like the Republican Party because it will keep junking regulations that so hinder bust-out greedy business practices. And... of course... "no new taxes ".

Our "betters" like things the way they are because, for them, that status quo is heaven on earth. The don't like change. And they'll define "hope" for us, too. Oh, we'll get meaningless slop about "anti-racism" and "keepin' it green", just to maintain the fiction that everything's getting better, more "progressive". Stumblebum, bureaucratic political correctness has become our new civic voodoo. But what's happening isn't really progress, per se. It's really a return to a more... interesting time... When people knew their places. And when little peasants like... well... me... keep our noses to the grindstone and our mouths shut.
