Documents Suggest Palin Obsessed Over Retaliating Against Ex-Brother-in-Law

13 document links at the end of the article - from what I can tell they are the actual emails and complaints.
Pretty damning stuff, even for a family vendetta.

Ooh! Looks promising!
For that I'll see if I can get a working link:

Thanks much, I've gathered there is a "secret code" to make all the block quotes and links work - I'm so not good at that kind of stuff.

It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the screwy TPM comment system. Initial blog posts only allow use of the built-in editor for proper formatting, so even if you had enclosed the URL in the correct html tags to make a clickable link, I don't think the system would have interpreted it properly. To do it correctly you would have had to use the link-making function of the editor.
On the other hand (in case you're not confused enough as it is), you are allowed to use html tags in the comment box. But since URLs there are automatically interpreted by the system and made into clickable links, you don't have to worry about having to enter any html on your own.
Yes, it's a complete mess!

Anyone know how to get this information to the Board of Directors of the Fraternal Order of Police, which has endorsed McCain?

I have no doubt that Trooper Wooten is not a likeable fellow. The real story though is not about Wooten, it's about Monegan. And, now, about how she is stonewalling an investigation that she said she welcomed.
For one thing, I'd like to see if there are any e-mails or other documents backing up her claims that Monegan was fired for disputes over other issues.

Not likeable? He threatened to kill the Governor's father. He used a taser on his child. In any city in America, if a cop did either of those things he would be fired immediately.

I haven't seen anything corroborating the supposed death threats.
The taser episode was stupid but it's not what it initially sounds like. The kid was curious so the Trooper hooked him up to a training device and zapped him with a shock supposedly equivalent to touching an electric fence.
And apparently the Governor's dad butchered the moose that the Trooper killed without a license (his wife, who was with him, had a license), and the Gov ate some of it.
These allegations were investigated by the Department and the Trooper was punished, apparently in accordance with their guidelines. But the issue is not whether the Trooper did anything to deserve that punishment, it's (1) whether Monegan did anything to deserve to be fired, (2) is the Gov lying about the reason she fired Monegan, and (3) why is the Gov now stonewalling the investigation that she said she welcomed?

Futher comment--check out the timeline of events:
February, 2005--Alleged death threat occurs. Sarah said she was watching the fight through a window.
April, 2005--On the day Molly files for divorce, Palin's father calls the cops and gives the phone to Molly, who alleges the death threats and drinking beer while driving his police vehicle home. Later she adds the taser incident and the shooting of the moose (she was apparently present at both incidents).
August, 2005--Palin sends e-mail to Trooper's superior Grimes with list of complaints.
October, 2005--At the divorce trial, At "the judge expressed puzzlement about why the family was trying to get Wooten fired, since depriving the trooper of a job would harm his ability to pay family support to Palin's sister.
"It appears for the world that Ms. McCann and her family have decided to take off for the guy's livelihood -- that the bitterness of whatever who did what to whom has overridden good judgment," Suddock said in an audio recording from the trial on TV station KTUU's Web site. "Aesop told us not to slay the goose who lays the golden egg. For whatever reason, people are trying to slay the goose here and it tends to diminish his earning capacity." (This from the WaPo article.
March, 2006. Grimes completes investigation and suspends Trooper for 10 days. Reduced to 5 days after union grievance.
November 2006. Palin elected governor, takes office in December.
January 2007, NEARLY A YEAR AFTER GRIMES' ACTIONS. Todd Palin invites Monegan TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE to discuss the matter. Monegan says the case is closed, he can't do anything. It doesn't appear that the Trooper is accused of anything occurring since February, 2005.
She just wouldn't let it go.

It just don't matter CleverBulldog. There's proper channels to deal with this stuff. A Governor ain't entitled to cut corners when he or she is personally interested.
You think for one moment if this had happened in Bill Clinton's Arkansas it would have been the end of the world?
How do you justify giving Palin slack no one would have given Clinton. Are there different rules for Republican Governors? They get to bend the law, make it up as they go, conduct vendettas?
I don't think so.

Before we put words in your mouth: does that mean it was acceptable for Gov. Palin to work outside the system? If so, is vigilante justice always OK, or only OK if you're a Republican? ;)

Would someone please teach Obama how to smartly sidestep uncomfortablly loaded questions during interviews... like the 'tax cut for the rich', 'above my pay-grade' and 'surge' questions. I watched Gulianni and even Mccain during the GOP primaries and saw how they played the interviewers with words.
Please, why can't Obama beat the journalists in their own game?
Its frustrating!!!
