Gallup Has Obama Up by Eight Points

The Gallup daily tracking poll, which hasn't been posted yet, will show Obama up by 8 points today, Frank Newport, Gallup's Editor announced this morning on CNN. He also said that historically, the candidate ahead in late September, with few exceptions, wins. The exception he provided was Reagan against Carter in 1980. Of course Reagan vs. Carter is very different from this election.

Good news! Thanks for the heads up.

Most of the undecideds are Independants and Democrats who have reservations about Obama. He quells those fears and he wins. That is the reason 1980 was different as well. He quelled those fears and Reagen ended up coming out on top.

Woo hoo!!!!

* Now is not a time for complacency. We need to fight for every vote. But this certainly cheers us on.

* Big question is how McCain will respond to the fact that his debate performance has hurt him. Will this be like 2000, where we saw a different Gore each debate? Expect more erratic behavior.

Expect a Bristol Palin wedding

Only if John McCain suspends his campaign to officiate.

Will someone please explain why on the same day that the crisis was announced that the top people from Goldman Sachs were having a meeting explaining how these mortgages were going to be rebundled and sold. Therefore making money going up and coming down? It was on C-SpanFriday night.

It is my understanding that GS largely avoided these bad loans. Thus it was quite a shock when their stock price plummeted. GS are the smarted people on wall street. If they are in trouble, be very afraid.
