Gary Bauer Sticks His Neck Out
I just saw an interview on MSNBC with Gary Bauer in which he claimed that the "bridge to nowhere" was an important necessary project and that the problem was that it should not have been funded by federal government. Now Palin was, or course, for this project and only cancelled construction when Alaska was asked to foot the bill, but I think the more important thing is that a McCain surrogate has just very publicly endorsed this ludicrous enterprise. Add in the fact that Palin used a lobbying firm to secure 27 million federal dollars for her tiny town- that's a whopping $3,000+ per resident, and I think we've got a story we should really make them own.
